Your third one blows my mind every time I see it (which is entirely too often). Why even bother bagging it up if you are just going to leave it on the trail anyway.
I can’t speak to Montana, but I have hunted them several times here in NC. It’s a pretty unique experience, so I’d definitely recommend it on that alone. We don’t have the sand hill cranes here, but I‘m sure that would be cool too.
I process them myself, but living in an apartment would definitely complicate things. There are processors around though. I know I’ve seen people ask and get recommendations on some of the more local hunting forums, so doing some searches on those would turn up options.
The majority of my hunting is done on Harris and Jordan. Opening day is usually a zoo, but it drops off considerably after that. Easy to access areas will always be crowed, but you will be fine if you put in a little effort to get away from the roads/parking lots.
