6.5 PRC with Berger 156 ammo
just rebarreled my tikka t3x with a proof carbon 6.5 prc prefit. first three shots with factory hornady 143 eldx no problem, smooth as butter. same with next three shots. cleaned after each group (barrel break in). then did another three with the factory berger 156 ammo and it was very hard... -

Colo Early Deer (rifle) is all Private Land Only?
I looked at the top 10 buck producing units (2021 stats) and then cross-referencing with the Colo Big Game licenses (2022) all the early rifle seasons (anything before 2nd rifle) all look to be private land only, is that right? Some say above timberline only but not a lot of bucks reported. -
which resizing die type?
i've been reloading .223 with a redding small base full length sizing die for a couple of years. no bushings, one step process that sizes and removes primer. pretty easy and i'm getting 100% reliability and great accuracy in my ar-15. so... what die type do i want for my 6.5 prc in a tikka... -

what speeds are you seeing out of 22 and 24" barrels (preferably proof 1-8) with the berger 156 factory ammo, thanks! -

2" barrel velocity loss in 6.5 prc and 7 prc
choosing a 22" vs a 24" will reduce weight a little as well as tree banging. any idea of the velocity i'll lose.. is the rule something like 25-50 fps/inch or thereabouts. not sure how sensitive the PRC's are to barrel length. thanks! -
Proof carbon tikka prefit 300 wsm favorite ammo & handloads?
so i replaced my factory tikka 300 wsm barrel with a proof carbon prefit. only had it out once (barrel break in /zero/etc) but i couldn't get any great groups out of it with a wide variety of ammo (hornady 200 eldx, hsm 185 vld hunting, fed terminal ascent 200, fed 180 tbt, etc). good news is... -
polartec 300?
Hi i have an old pair of polartec 300 bottoms that i use as a mid layer. The elastic waistband/drawstring are gone. Any recs on where to find a replacement or something similar, not seeing much out there. thanks! -

i'm a lefty so can't just buy a 6.5 prc tikka. so which lefty-available tikka caliber do i need to buy to slap a proof prefit barrel on it and have the factory bottom medal/plastic and factory magazine work? or would i need to perhaps get one in 300 win mag or wsm and also get another magazine... -

cooking & staying warm in no fire zone
i've motel'd it the last three rifle seasons and have had as you know record cold. for those that have slept in cars/trucks or small tents during fire bans, how did you stay warm and cook food, heat water, etc? -
