I have one, too, and I really like it. Used a kinetic for years and greatly prefer the grip-n-pull. I haven't used a collet style. I could see them being easier if you have a bunch to pull. I usually just have a few here and there when I've done something dumb and the grip-n-pull is quick and...
I might have done that if I'd thought about it. Filing the shoulder of the screw cap was such an easy fix though. Just a few passes on the file and then I hit it with some cold blue. I didn't need much, maybe another half turn on the adjustment. Originally, I didn't want to alter the screw...
I had one that I couldn't get below 3 lb or so, but it was just because the adjustment screw had dead-headed on the screw that attaches the trigger to the action. I tried a replacement spring, but found they were lighter than I wanted so I just took a file to the edge of the screw cap and then...
If I'm shooting lighter weight bullets in a 223, it's generally a 50 vmax. My standard cheap practice bullet has always the Hornady 75 bthp for a long time, though I've been shooting a lot of 73 eldms lately because I've gotten them for couple pennies more each.
If you wanted to shoot a cheap...
One of the things you've mentioned in the podcasts that's really caught my attention is the discussion about how much people's groups get bigger when they break position after every shot. I've paid attention to my own 10 shot groups since then (usually shot without breaking position) and noticed...
Be honest though. How hard would it be for you to skip pulling the barreled action out and checking to see if there is any grease on the threads and that it is properly torqued. Old habits die hard. I'm not sure I could do it.
Looks like a good setup.
I've had a Borka for 10 years or so. Mine is the precursor to the current version of this:

If I lost it, I'd order another right away.
Bummer.
Might be seated, but it doesn't look right. This is one of those situations where you hope you're the problem because it's easier than the alternative.
None. Something around 2.8 is as short as I'm aware of. I don't think it's ideal, but not a showstopper.
For the 22 creed it's tough to run out of magazine space, but if the distance to rifling is too far you might not have as much of the bullet shank in the casing as you want if you're trying...
I wouldn't be worried about seating the bullet past the neck shoulder junction. What's the max COAL that will fit in your action? If your action will allow more, you'd be leaving a small amount of case volume on the table, but it's nothing really.
I like to be able to reach the rifling and...
Mine was actually 5/32 hex. I fiddled with the Phillips for a bit then shined a light on the itty bitty hole. Decided it looked like it might be hex and started trying options. I have the length of pull kit. Maybe that's the difference.
Anyone know the screw head holding on the buttstock? I noticed this evening that the top screw on mine isn't tight. I fished around with a couple drivers, and decided it would be easier to ask. I'm trying not to bug UM if I can help it, but if no one knows I'll ask them and post it here.
Most of what I've heard on the Hornady 75 bthp from others has been positive, but I've heard of a couple experience with people who couldn't get them to shoot. I suppose that's just how it is sometimes. After my experience with the RMR 3gh I've been watching a bit, and I don't believe I've seen...
I have no experience on game but the 75 3gh has not shot great. I bought 1k when they first became available. I probably have targets somewhere but just from memory I believe they were around 2 to 2.5 inches for 10 shots out of a 223 T3x that is generally around 1 MOAish for 10 shots with...
