Good hiking boots for Morton’s Neuroma

I have put in quite a few 10-15 mile days on Keen and Danner boots with a climber and day pack. I also had years of nearly continuous hiking/rucking with 100+ pound loads. Those days are probably the reason why I have issues now. My feet are always conditioned for the miles but if I can cover...

Good hiking boots for Morton’s Neuroma

Anyone hiked with a trail runner style boot with heavy loads and had good results? I know that a heavier boot is better for side hilling and extreme angles but I might end up having to run two types up boots to keep from having a flare up while out on my hunt.

    Help with Backpack Choice

If you are patient, I bet you can find a pack to fit your budget right here in the classifieds. I just picked up a gently used Seek Outside pack for half price of a new one. I will have more room than I plan to need and it is more comfortable than any pack or ruck I have ever worn. I didn’t want...

    Seek Outside Revolution/Unaweep 6300

I just picked up my first dedicated external frame hunting pack yesterday from 8Crow. I have to say I’m really impressed with the quality and simplicity of Seek Outside. I loaded it up with about 50 pounds yesterday when I got home, then took off with my bow for a little bit of still hunting...

Military and Veterans check this out

If you haven’t heard of The Fallen Outdoors, you should check it out. We have chapters in 42 states, currently and it is a great way to get out with guys that have common interests and backgrounds. I have set up an archery Elk Trip for Idaho this coming September and have a chat group of around...

    FNG stationed in Jacksonville NC

Welcome! I’m a crusty old vet that is always looking for ways to get out with other Military guys. Have you checked out The Fallen Outdoors? That is an awesome way to find other guys in the Military that have the same interests you do. You might even find yourself a new hunting partner.

Good hiking boots for Morton’s Neuroma

I have beaten my legs and feet up pretty badly in my previous career and am now paying the price for my foolishness. I will not let pain stand in the way of having a great hunt though. I have Morton’s Neuroma and also arthritis in both of my feet and wear Keen boots on a daily basis for work. I...

You can reach me at 5733374873. I would like to buy your pack, if there would be a way for me to try it on that would be great. If not I will go ahead and roll the dice anyway.

    FS: Seek Outside Revolution/Evolution Pack

Where in Missouri are you from 8crow? I live down around Fort Leonard Wood, but would be willing to travel if you wouldn’t mind me trying your pack on.

Best hunting gear for big guys

I am 6’2’’ 260 and normally wear a 50 coat and 38/32 jeans. Will the Sitkas have a nice tapered opening so as to not balloon out and snag on everything when gaiters are used? I will never be a skinny jeans guy but I did buy some slim fit Duluth fire hose pants that are really nice, but cotton...

    Mystery Ranch MARSHALL questions

I sure wish I had seen this sooner. I would have loved to be able to get a Marshall for that cheap.

    Rinella

Rinella talks about the best qualities of each political party without actually saying which way he leans. It’s unfortunate that more politicians don’t share the same political views as Steve. It’s a shame that our country can’t get away from the rigid two party system. Politics is mostly BS...

Best hunting gear for big guys

No offense to the guys that can still wear their jeans from 8th grade but there isn’t a bunch of info for the XXL crowd. I am wondering about the best company for clothes that will survive without making me wonder if the crotch will blow out when I squat. My most recent hunting clothes are...

    New guy from MO

I retired out of Fort Leonard Wood and stayed to let my kids finish school here, but am originally from a little town called Centralia just north of Columbia. How about yourself?

WTB EXO 3500/5500 or comparable pack

I am looking for a pack to take on an elk trip this next fall and am leaning towards EXO but if the right deal pops up on a Kifaru or Mystery Ranch I would be willing to check it out. I have a long torso and will need a large or XL belt.

    New guy from MO

Lurked on here for a while checking in once in a blue moon for info on diy elk trips. I am making my first trip to Idaho this September for an archery elk hunt and figured I would go ahead and sign up to get access to the classifieds and ask questions here and there. I am retired from the...
