welcome from Riverfalls WI. As keller said, do it. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner once you get out there. I hope your putting in for our elk draw here too.
Another option would be a paddle boat tour/ride out of stillwater. Go to the st.croix boat and packet website and take a look. depending on the time of day, you can get dinner, have few drinks, sometimes there's bands playing on them too. we've done it a few times and always enjoyed it.
Mount it, you won't regret it. yes we should make every effort to utilize all of our taken game but I make exceptions when it comes to a mount. I've killed a lot of pheasants over the years and finally mounted one this year. I get more questions/comments about the roosters looks, how I shot it...
it's not necessary but bring it if it makes you feel better. my partner carried a 9mm while out there and we did get stopped by F&G. He didn't say anything about the side arm so I think your good. he did put up a stink about his gun safety certificate so bring that for sure.
I don't feel that way now but I did. when I first started I wouldn't pass anything unless it had spots. through time i've find myself letting more deer walk for various reasons. she's with a fawn, not big enough, it's the first weekend, the left side is busted up, etc. etc. I think its more or...
I'll probably never hunt sheep but it's cool to see kuiu put forth the effort to make something like this happen. good job[emoji106]

Labradors, because I like their demeanor. my father in law hunts GSPs and they are fun to hunt over but a little to high strung for me. hunting his dog (shotzie) and mine (diamond) together is always interesting, but they actually compliment each other well.

Yes, they can handle steel. But I always follow this chart with factory chokes unless specified on the choke tube.

I thought fatcamp was referencing the original post and you threw your own scenario in. Who gives their dog a 100 yard radius in public? My dog dont have that kind of range even in the field. If I'm in a area were theres people possibly around, shes on a leash. In the outdoors, not hunting, shes...
Your kidding right? Were did you get 3 barks at 100 yards. It's the hunters fault and not the d-bag who can't control his dog? Weather it's a leash or by command that dog should have never got 2 feet from the guy in the first place. Put it down, I guarantee it wasnt the first time its happened...
bison and arcade make good hiking belts. Pantagonia and arc'teryx do too. I wear a kuiu belt. They were just in the outlet for 14.99 but I think sold out.

It's not the carbonation that will drag you down, it's all the sugar. If your not filling your nalgene or platypus with it, a little dew wont hurt. I personally can't drink it, gives me heart burn. Im with smokin x's, I'll drink a few Pepsi's at camp though.

I don't mean to single anybody out, or misquote anyones reply. I liked the idea of asking the wife for a nonhunters point of view, but I should have known better, she works at a law firm. Say booze and hunting and she sees guys running around the woods drunk, we are from Wisconsin. Nothing...
Not that my opinion matters but I dont care what he does. He has no affect on me and I have no affect on him. Some of the responses are pretty comical. I think there's a couple guys with a serious man crush. To say he's done more than anyone for hunting and conservation is either a joke or from...
No experience with them but ya looks like a knock off lone wolf without the price tag. Those would work just fine for you. Also you can look at rivers edge lite foot aluminum, good solid stand.
