    Is it all Leopolds

I just love how many experts we have here that think they are the shit! Thats why I come here daily....I need a good laugh.

    Is it all Leopolds

Well, for all of the naysayers here who despise Leupold scopes they sure sell very well in the classifieds and dare I say just as fast as NF, SWFA, Vortex, and Trijicon. Perhaps the overwhelming number of members are not reading the drop test notes...or just disregarding it since they don't...

What would have happened if I would have shot this round?

The other person wasn't asking anyone what they think is a better cartridge, wasn't looking to get brow beat over shooting a 300RUM or looking to justify why he does. Is the desire to shoot a big magnum any less sportsman or somehow dumb vs those that desire to shoot big game with a 223? So...

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

I did find the article written in AH by Towsley "The Importance of Long Range Values". It was the October issue and it starts on page 48. He recommends the minimum of 6.5 caliber and 130gr bullet for longer range hunting of any big game if you are going to engage, even though he clearly does...

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

Just because your wife overspends at the store and still can't cook very well...but, you're not starving and eat what she cooks...does not make her a terrible wife and cause for divorce. Same for NRA.

    And speaking of old guys........

The location of the virus in your spine determines if you get it in the head or the body and the level of your body's immune system when it attacks more or less determines the severity. Your immune system keeps the virus in check..when the immune system is compromised enough it lets the virus...

    Pick apart my retirement plan

I'm certainly glad you are thinking about all of this now instead of 2 years from retiring....however, retiring at 46 means you have to plan for a 40 year retirement, perhaps even 50 or 55 years with the medical science advancements we have......40 or 50+ years is a LONG time. A 40 or 50 year...

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

anyone trying to keep people away from taking our hunting and shooting rights away, regardless how efficient they are....seems to be better than nothing. i am 100% certain, if not for the NRA and SCI actions over the past decades, none of us would have hunting and shooting rights today. don't...

    Leupold 2.5-8x36 still worth it?

I remember just recently where a well known african hunter was on safari and he dropped his rifle off the truck and the Trijicon scope lost zero by 4 feet.....the best part...it was a Trijicon sponsored hunting show.....how embarrassing! Yeah it did not pass that drop test. I have been using...

    Scope for 300wsm

I guess if you build 5 million Leupolds and 150,000 of anything else you will certainly have a higher % of failures at some point for some reason. I mean, math is math. I have Leupolds and NF scopes....they both have their place. A 30oz, or even a 20oz scope does not belong on a superlight...

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

Elpollo...millions of NRA members get AH magazine...and read it. Sorry if you cannot see the benefits to reading, and more importantly, backing those that protect your freedoms to shoot and hunt. It's your loss to contend with. I read every single day......it's part of retaining intelligence.

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

spoonbill, I just got my copy of the AH magazine earlier today and was reading it tonight. I am not an electronic magazine subscriber, only the hard magazine copy. I'm sure someone can find it. Page 8 under the E.I.C. "saysme" column. Bryce had an article "Long Range Values" in a previous AH...

    Mike Tyson VS Jake Paul

58 or not, I still think Tyson could have dropped that punk in 2 rounds if not for specific rules to protect the punk. The punk knew this, hence the rules. I was stronger and better fit at 58 than I was at 40..and i'm still stronger and better fit now at 64. You don't have to be able to run a...

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

Form.....I see Bryce Townsley has, and now editor in chief J. Scott Omstead are calling you .223 for large game and long range small caliber hunting guys out.....publicly, in American Hunter magazine (NRA). Not you specifically, but the concept you are pushing(perhaps he knows of the RS 223...

300 prc or 7 prc (Again I know)

with a 10 pound rifle recoil wont be bad at all....I have 300mags but I really like my new 7prc. You are not gaining much with the 300prc....better only if you need to shoot heavies over 208gr
