For sure. It gets busier every single year.
If you and your guys are serious about it and are looking more forward to the experience of a wilderness hunt than the quality of a spot and stalk bear hunt; do it. It’s a special place.
If you want to see multiple bears a day and have some country...
Yessir-Solid ram. If that’s the area I believe you are in, that’s about as big as they get, and pretty close to the river for this time of year as well. Double bonus.
nice work, man.
I am super jealous. I have been putting in for 11 years, but probably won’t ever draw. Idaho is getting pretty...
Have fun in the Frank. Forget the pack raft idea. A few miles on the middle fork that time of year would be all the flimsy little boat could handle and you’d just end up packing more garbage out.
Fly in, hike hard, find water, hike even harder and you might find a good one.
Most of the reply’s you have received have been spot on. If you fly into Boise and take 55 to 17/21 up to Stanley you have just driven through and around better Muley hunting then you can find in 36.
39 May report a lot more hunters, but its twice as big and has country just as gnarly as 36...
You can have a fun float hunt in 13. Keep an eye on land use maps on hikes up from the river though. The new trespass law means landowners up on the top don’t need to post property lines.
