The Magnus is definitely quieter than the Ultra 9, but you pay the penalty in weight. Nomad Ti XC is Ultra 9/possibly slightly better performance in a sub 7" can.
I'll echo B23. I have the full size Magnus, Magnus S, and the Nomad Ti XC. For a hunting can if weight was concerned I'd pack the Nomad. A Cat JL is just as quiet as a Magnus, but isn't much lighter.
The ability to have prefits and endless customizable options make it an easy Tikka choice imo. Even if you do spend more money, the fun will be exactly what you decided it should be.
I solely run the A419 sidewinder system on everything including the 223. Muzzle adapters are 2 ounces. Easy to swap from a can to one of their brakes if you choose.
Actually just talked to Nick today cause I added a 7SAW barrel to my Cross order from them to tag along with the 6.5CM. Just waiting on the back ordered dies.
If that doesn’t include the scope price you could come pretty close to putting together a custom yourself. My advice being this is your first bolt action, buy something that has prefits available. I’m a dedicated Straight Jacket Armory customer, check with them on prefits they may have on shelf...
I’d rather run a pic rail for ease of scope swapping. Have had plenty of guns for people I’ve shot and they swore something was wrong with the gun, with pic rail I throw one of my scopes on and prove it was cheap rings/their scope was the problem. Although I don’t need another action, I foresee...
I don't have any issues with my 90 degree throws, but a lot is personal preference. Just got a Terminus Zeus and considering building another rifle on the Terminus platform for the 60 degree throw as well. I've had a couple ARC actions in the past, give me Terminus over them. If you're after...
Even as individual if you were to die you get a free transfer to any eligible individual of age. The ATF doesn't just come and take your suppressor when you die. I have cans both as individuals and in a trust.
I have been buying points for elk in WY and currently have 7, but I have gotten the speed goat itch. I bought my first WY point this year for them and am browsing through 100 tabs I have open reading about doing the same in other states. I have only archery hunted whitetail in Kansas in what I...
Did you go CF? Assuming the GT in CF will not heat up as quick as the creedmoor and potentially less chances for stringing if multiple shots are needed.
I never thought of it as a hunting round, but it makes sense. Found a node while doing break in, but now it sounds like I need a short GT. Extremely easy round to get good SD/ES and be accurate. I guess I'll have to get more ELDM's to try after swearing them off for precision type shooting lol...
Even on the normal XLR stocks I feel like a bag rider is needed. Have added it to both of mine. I want to get a carbon like you have pictured, and I would think a bag rider would be essential in that small of an area.
