I’ve never hunted them in NM but have in AZ. Imo with a rifle it wouldn’t be to hard but with a bow in hand another story. I was lucky enough to take this buck in 2004. Good luck and post pictures and a story.
Yep most of the elk I’ve shot have been taken without calling and just sneaking in while they’re vocal. I think it‘ll be a blast hunting a different species of elk.
I went to an archery shoot today in Colorado. I threw my raffle ticket in the bucket and was the lucky winner. I already have a 5900. They fit me well.
I live in Wyoming and we’ve put up with wolves for quite some time. Like stated they prey on herds pretty hard.
The reason people want them especially non hunters is because they look all cute and cuddly per the anti’s and media propaganda.
The bottom line is anti’s want them to manage the...
I agree. I’ve hunted August but flew into an area that you can hike daily to good deer spots. Most fly in transporters have good locations so you can camp away from known bear concentrations when fish maybe spawning. We rented an electric fence from Kodiak Camps along with a sat phone. We...

I ordered an RX8 back at the end of December after thr Hoyt Representative stop at our shop. He’s a lefty like me and had all the new 2024 bows to try out. I received it at the end of February. This is the shortest ata bought I’ve ever ordered in my 40plus years bowhunting. It’s a very...
I've killed lots of elk in dark timber. Basically I just still hunt through it. The key is to move very very slowly. What I mean is walk a couple yards then stop look and listen. I always stop by a tree. Also use trails there usually quieter to walk on. Most shots will be very close. I...
