    Have you ever had a tag where you are limited to just dinks? If you saw a really nice buck you have to pass it. That’s the kicker for me. I’ve elk hunted a 2 point deer zone in Idaho and some of the bucks I’ve seen in there made my head spin.

    I’m assuming you picked up an Idaho tag. The elk will be in the areas people aren’t, from top to bottom. That’s the best answer you could get. Cover country with boots and glass until you find them or their fresh sign.

    Most black bears will leave once they know you are there. He was probably going to the deer carcass. I don’t worry too much about running off a black bear, but I’m always prepared for the 1% that don’t run away from you.

    I have a grizz hide nailed to the wall in my bedroom that doesn’t fit just the wall. I nailed the overlapping arm and claws to the ceiling. I think it looks good.
