Wilderlife Nice review! I just picked up a reckoning bag on a holiday sale and am now looking out for a frame sale. This is my first Kifaru purchase and I was messing with the bag and love the idea of using a k-clip to keep the bottom of the bag more contained during day hunt stuff. I had...
Jayhawkhunter I am interested in the frame, but for the price I feel like I might as well go for a new one though or just wait for a sale on frames that have happened in the past from time to time. Can definitely PM too about this but I know you will need to find someone interested in the bag...
Thanks for the info kowboy!
I just received a rekoning that I ordered on kifarus sale and they did update the bag and it does have a center port for hydration and a sleeve for a bladder internally. They removed the velcro strip for the other bladder support method. Just fyi
Sounds good on everything and thank you for the update
I am interested in the frame but not quite ready to pull the trigger yet. I wear a 34 waist pant, do you think the medium belt is too big? Kifarus website shows I am right on the line and feel like small might be best.
When did you get the bag? I was talking with Kifaru and it sounds like the reckoning now has and internal bladder sleeve. Curious if this one does or not
Not sure how to share it but there is a MR Pop up 28 on the classifieds here sold by cuzmort. They have a pop up frame when needed to gain load lifter height for hauling

Agreed, leaving the hinds bone in helps get the heat out and gives rigidity to that big mass of meat. I agree on the fronts, a bit too much bone to be a good compromise. If I was able to cool down the rear quarters fully before pack out then would probably bone them out if it was a nasty hike...
270 will get the job done for sure, shot placement is the most important thing though. I have heard of a lot of guys killing elk with a 243. I have had solid, boiler room, hits on elk at around 300 yards with my 300 win mag and they still go for a while. Elk are very tough animals. I like the...
Forgot to mention, my buddy shot a cow at I believe 20 yrds with a hypodermic and it sprayed blood over every tree she ran by and didn’t go very far at all.
100 gr for both of us. I would like to try some fixed blade but hard to leave what has been working

I have been using the NAP Killzone for a while now. Love them on deer and last year it did a number on my bull at 35 yrds, was a little far back and didn’t get a full pass through but good blood trail the whole way and held together through ribs. Got the job done, it’s like someone hit them with...
I have split up the loose meat in with the front quarters in the past. Makes it four similar weighted chunks. Go as heavy as you can on the first trips and lighter on the last ones. Depending on how far, usually four trips solo. If really deep and nasty, debone and take more lighter trips, it...
Been a lurker for a long time as well, it’s unfortunate to find out I can’t reply or PM since I found a couple classifieds I really want to reply to but I am really glad these rules are in place to keep the scammers out

Wet wipes for sure, but Leukotape, quick release for filling bladder are really important but I think my first aid kit/emergency stuff is the most underrated piece.
I would spend the 70 for some good synthetic bags. I just picked up a Wapiti pack from Caribou Gear for this season. I have used the Alaska game bag, cheese cloth type, before and been fine but after feeling the Caribou bags I can’t believe I didn’t buy them sooner.
70 bucks is a decent amount...
