Was wondering if anyone has any tips for filming deer hunts with an action camera( I have a DJI Osmo Action)? I will be hunting from the ground from a stationary position and was thinking of a Gorilla pod to attach it to a tree or my tripod/shooting pod during the hunt. I have about 4 batteries...
I appreciate the honesty! yea I have put this idea on hold for sure and might give it a try if there is some snow on the ground and I just want to take a walk when there isn't any other hunting going on.
I thought this could be a fun topic of what's the worst deer hunting advice you have ever heard or received? For me it was that all deer ONLY walk quartering to the wind. When I first heard I thought it was true but quickly realized this isn't possible and is just false when I started hunting more.
Next weekend is opening weekend for Pheasant here in MN and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for a new guy. Never had the chance to hunt Pheasant before so I'm pretty excited but I am going solo with no dog. I have used the Pheasant forever layer on Onxmaps to try and find some locations...
If it's like Maine at all, most guys don't want to go to far from the truck. I'm hoping to start making a collection of spots that could be go to areas that way I can always have back up spots. If I can find a few small chunks I would be happy.
This is very much the mindset I think I should have. Great insight! One reason I picked up bow hunting was to have a longer season and to get in the woods before gun season. Also I find doing some turkey hunting in some spots can be a great way to get the lay of the land and it tell you a lot...
I'm guessing you might have been looking a bit north of where you are near that Millie Lac area which is what I've been looking at. Lots of deer get pulled out of that general area but there is around 13 hunters per sq miles.
Roughly 92k archers in the state so I'm hoping not All of them will be in that area. I won't really know till I try

Just moved to MN and I'm super excited to get back into Whitetail. Growing up in Maine you had a good season hunting if you saw a deer let alone killed one. Now that I'm here, I see where the highest harvest numbers are in the state and part of me wants to go there as it would be closer to where...
I spent a lot of time in Gifford, it was amazing how large it is of a NF. kind of blew my mind really and I had many adventures out there. Some seriously beautiful but tough country for sure.
not sure if you mean late as in going out for sheds or to shed hunting in general. If you're talking about late as in getting out, I know the feeling. What helped me was finding locations that were just that much tougher to get to. I found this ravine that wasn't that tough but it wasn't fun...
