Thanks. Been going to the Mojave desert for over 40 years and I love being out there, so even if I eat my tag I'll have a good time. Now the wife, not so much.
Put in D17 as my only choice and got it.
Started a new job about three months ago so I don't have any PTO time for scouting, will need to use weekends for that. Before I hired in I told the Manager I needed at least a week off later in the year for deer hunting and he told me no problem.
I sent them an email and got a reply 12 minutes later. The agent said from communications with the Big Game Analyst, the process for point reinstatement is rather lengthy, and if I see my original points now the new point should be added shortly.
I'm guessing a lot of hunters are surrendering tags.
I mailed back my X9B tag last Sunday (9/13) and this morning my points showed up reinstated. We are also supposed to get an additional point for the species the surrendered tag was for. I'm going to call the CDFW to see when that point shows up.
Got my rifle back today. The bolt was replaced with the new style bolt and headspaced, full qc check and re-shot. I remounted my Farrel rail and the scope and will head out to the desert in a couple weeks to check zero.
What's the word on your rifle? Haven't heard anything from them since I sent mine back, and they also haven't replied to email I sent a couple weeks ago asking about it.
Found this place last summer, lots of good info. Wanted to get my hunting license when I was 22, life happened and 35 years later I finally go on my first hunt this past November in D13. Successful? No, but my wife accompanied me and we both enjoyed the time together. Now to start planning for 2018.
