YouTube!! Imagine a world without "content creators", "smash the thumbs up", "subscribe", and followers. Even writing those words makes me want to puke.
Then again, I wouldn't be able to fix my cars, install an appliance, or lay down flooring 😂
*I know YouTube isn't gear but I think it's...
I'm not fast enough to make the guaranteed time qualifier but signing up for the lottery for the Chicago Marathon. If I'm lucky enough to get a slot, it will be my first marathon. Already signed up for an IM 70.3 next year so that will keep me motivated throughout the winter...
Wasn't there just another grizzly attack story around the Island Park area? Sounds like your chances of running into a grizzly or even getting attacked is much higher than any other areas I've heard about. Not sure an elk is worth the risk?
I have a half marathon in two weeks and just signed up for the Salem Half Ironman 70.3. Once hunting season is over, I'll be spending a LOT of time in the pool and on the bike.
Wanting to sign up for a 100mi bike event in the spring to make sure I'm prepared for the half IM.
Went with Cooper Discoverer AT 3 XLTs. They have 60k warranty so we'll see how they do this fall and winter. I'm sure most tire fare well in their first year. I'm interested to see how they handle after a 2nd and 3rd season and how they will wear.
Not a clydedale but close. Was about 220 when I started my endurance life about year ago. Since dropped a bunch of weight but can still put on the lbs VERY quickly as I have an "overeating" habit. I NEVER want to see a "2" as the front number on a scale again.
As far as being able to do...
Thanks for sharing your history in endurance and what it's done to your body. I believe the Zone 2 or 80/20 training method is relatively new and would have done wonders for athletes who pushed the limits years ago. I enjoy the "struggle" and continue to push, but keep reminding myself it's...
My head is spinning! Since I'm going into hunting season and winter, it's probably best I go ahead and get new tires now. My current Nittos have about 7/32 left on them with one tire shot. Was going put off the purchase and get a set of used tires on FB Marketplace but decided that wasn't the...
Since a lot of solo hunters are reading this I have a questions (sorry for the thread rob OP).
On backpack hunts, do you have your Garmin Inreach or similar SOS device on at all times, just turn it on periodically to update family, or only turn it on if needed...like REALLY needed?
How do those Coopers do in snow and muddy/crappy terrain? I do quite a bit of snow driving in the winter.
I was "lucky" to get 4in of snow while turkey hunting on the night before we had to leave. Threw on the chains twice as I don't take chances when pulling the trailer...
Appreciate the insights Corb. I've ran the Nitto Trail Grapplers (mud terrain) previously and now have the Ridge (hybrid terrain) on them currently. I was hoping to get more out of the Ridges but it's turning out to be insignificant.
My current Ridge Grapplers have 21.5k and they do have...
I definitely keep up on the tire pressure. I could do a bit better at rotating them, but that's not going to add 10k more miles of life.
Yes, my truck weighs 8k lbs and I don't take it easy on it. I don't pull my trailer all the time but I'd say around 40% it has the 5th wheel behind it and...
I own a 2016 F350, all stock.
How the hell Is as anyone getting 35k miles out of their ridge grapplers let alone 60k!??!!?
Mine have 21.k miles on them and will need to replace them within the next 5k-7k miles.
I ride highways, to the local supermarket, gravel roads, pull a 5th wheel, and...
