    Hornady ELD-X

300 wsm 200 grain ELDx. Through both shoulders of a good sized mule deer. Pencil entrance and 2ish inch exit. Lost some meat, but no worse a nosler partition with the same shot.

    Hornady ELD-X

Factory loaded 200 grain ELDx in 300 wsm. Elk quartering away at 150 yards. Caliber sized entrance, wrecked vitals, through lower end of offside scapula. Stoppped just short of the hide. Elk was down in 5 seconds. Lost a little meat in the shoulder, but probably no more than any lead bullet...

    Carnivore Diet

I like seeing the reported blood work numbers. That’s what I’m most curious about with this diet

Anybody have any “bad” results to report on carnivore? Love the positive results from everybody.

    Favorite weightlifting programs

The 6-12 weeks is just to switch things up. I think it’s good to rotate programs.

Great listen, just finished part 1 and 2. Enjoy listening to Form on shoot 2 hunt. Leaning hard towards the 220 eld x

Believe it was the vld. 300 wsm HSM load in 2017

Match bullets vs early hunting bullets

The 185 Berger in 2 antelope and 3 deer all gave me a pencil entrance, started upsetting roughly half way through, and a fist sized exit. Exit was very ragged like many small pieces exited. Animal usually ran 75-100 yards before falling, all lung shots. Was working up a 208 elem load, but with...

Match bullets vs early hunting bullets

Is this with a 140 eld m? That exact thing is what I didn’t like about the 185 Berger. Hoping the 208 ELDm upsets more quickly.

Match bullets vs early hunting bullets

That makes sense. So the high bc design accidentally created some pretty bad ass hunting bullets. More or less. Didn’t think about it like that since I heard the original ballistic tip had a reputation for shallow wound channels.

Match bullets vs early hunting bullets

Using the eld M this fall, so trying to see for myself, but trying to understand the difference between some match bullets and early hunting bullets in terminal performance. Does a thicker jacket at the nose or the empty jacketed space in the nose (Berger) allow the bullet to penetrate before...

Is a 30 cal big game rifle needed anymore?

Seems some people hate same topic discussions with different people. I like these conversations. There are less than 5 people in my life that care enough about terminal performance to have these conversations. These posts are fun, nothing wrong with discussing bullets. Even if it’s being...

Is a 30 cal big game rifle needed anymore?

I think the only thing you would gain is less recoil. 30-06 will kill at a pretty good distance too, with good bullet selection. Go kill chit with the 30-06 and build something else in 3-4 years if your not happy

Is a 30 cal big game rifle needed anymore?

My opinion would be to load up the 30-06 and kill anything you want in North America. With the correct tag of course

Is a 30 cal big game rifle needed anymore?

It’s a struggle switching to the new trends with the match bullets for hunting. I grew up with mostly fuddlore so I’m a big 30 fan. Can’t argue with all the pics/stories of dead game and devastating wound channels with 223’s - 6.5’s with the right bullets. I still prefer heavy accubonds around...

Are you pumped for OTC Colorado Elk?

As a flat lander, I get extremely pumped for any chance to hike the mountains with a rifle in hand. Does bum me out a little that I have to try a new unit this year.
