    Yes. It is totally useable, if your neck will stretch far enuff to use it as is, without moving it back to a more comfortable position ala cantilever......grin

    The Wraith mini comes with a short rail clamp. I bought the cantilever base clamp because the eye relief was too long without it. this pic does not have the rubber eyepiece attached, but you can see the base differences.

    My only Newhouse has cast-tooth jaws. Great score, but I'm no help..... Haven't seen that type of chain before, the ones I had were all kinkless. Might be kinda old, as mine were all postwar.

    Color. The dry cows will be a slightly different tint. A bit 'gray-er/blue-er' than the wet ones. It gets easier to tell by color, if the sun is direct on them. The bulls will look almost white, the cows more tan/brown. Even bull calves are easy to tell from heifer calves, if you can see them...
