What diaphram calls are you guys using to get that high bugle? I got like 5 of Corey jacobsens and the new one and I cannot get them crack that high pitch, they all have that plastic dome not sure if that don't work for me or what
I need to give a big "shout-out" to topo-maps. I recently ordered a map of my unit, incorrectly. When I got the map I realized I couldn't see half of the unit. It was my fault but when I called they sent me another how I wanted it for free. Great customer service!!
That is what we did for our 16 yo son's first elk hunt this year, picked a unit we knew we were likely to draw to have the experience with him. Once he starts college in a couple years it will be harder to get him away, so we are allowing him to miss school. Filling a tag or 2 would be a dream...
Great video! You had me on the edge of my seat waiting for you to get one. Great experience anyway. Last year was my first elk hunt and we didn't get that close to one unfortunately. Hoping for a different outcome this year :-)
Hahaha, thanks, I guess I'm worried about the wrong critters. Lots of mosquitoes here in MI so I should be able to handle that. Though I've never seen a "constant drone"!
That's awesome that you live that close and can see them all the time, even if you can't hunt them. I wish I didn't have to drive 20 hours when I do have a tag to get to them!! Haha
Pack rats, lol thanks for the heads up! I appreciate, it and can't wait to get out there and way, way off the roads!! Black widows though.....yuck. I can do without seeing one of those, I'll take the snakes over them any time!
I don't know where I read about the "8 poisonous snakes" maybe it said 8 kinds of rattlesnakes, idk. Anyway, I'm not all that hung up on it, just looking for the common sense things that people who don't live near them never think about. Not paranoid, but want to be smart about it. Gaiters are...
First off, I apologize if there is already a thread on this that I didn't find. I am elk hunting in North NM (unit 50) this September and wondering what dangerous critters I need to be prepared for and how to prepare. I am from Michigan and there is nothing poisonous here so I am clueless when...
Congratulations, that's a really nice bull! It's good to know that some states will let you transfer a tag like that. We tried that once in WY and it was a definite NO.
