Over the years I've seen more elk fall to 140 and 160gr accubonds than anything. But they are old and boring now. Last few have been eld-x and 165 sierra tgk. Been quite pleased with the sierra tgk actually, so far it has held together better than other cup & core bullets I have tried.
I bought...
That makes sense, at 22" if I did my math right I'll be right at .750 which is well within TBAC's minimum. Obviously if I go 20" it's even better. I'll stick to my plan just got cold feet when I read that ha!
Anyone put a kelbly atlas tactical into the Remington SA mold?? Just curious what needed done if anything. I've narrowed down my options to another AG alpine hunter or trying out a rokstok for my upcoming 25 PRC build. No complaints at all with my AG and it can be ordered specifically for a...
Sorry to steal the thread here, building a 25 PRC, max 22" long. Bart 3B should be adequate with suppressor?? Don't want to go carbon on this one. Like the OP it will be all around usage. Fluting is an option but not sure it is worth it. Had my mind set on the 3b till I read on bartleins...
ADG seems to be very good at sticking to and publicizing their schedule. Some dealers will even let you pre-order. IMO it's pretty easy to get if you plan ahead a bit, and be ready to jump on it once it hits the shelves. I was able to get my hands on plenty of 7 saum brass to last the barrel...
i really really want to build a quarter bore for the new heavies. the 25 creed seems to be the easiest solution because of the good head stamped brass. However with the new bullets released in last couple years and a handful of recent threads just here on rokslide I can't help but think someone...
I've got a tikka t3x stock for sale. It's a roughtech model, tan with black specks. I ended up building the gun into a 7 saum and put an aftermarket stock on it. I did use it one season, and my gun bearer wore down the side of the stock a bit as seen in the pics. Has nothing to do with the...
ADG is pretty transparent on their schedule I would suggest contacting them directly. And get on a couple preorder lists, as not all of them get what they have ordered with each batch. I got mine through Unknown Munitions.
As per powder H4831sc and RL23 seem to be the better options to cover the...
I'm about to pull the trigger myself, need a ballistic rangefinder and dont archery hunt much anymore so seems like the perfect time to make the switch. For some reason the zeiss rf gets left off a lot of these threads, and yet it rarely gets a negative review.
Here's my brief summary from my...
I know unknown munitions will do a load development pack of loaded ammo. Different bullets, powder charges etc. But I too would be curious if there's a company that would sell 10 or so just bullets to compare.
Also hammer sells sample packs of I beleive 15 bullets at a time direct from the...
I've got the 724 and a 82mm meopta. I am in more open type country where the wind always blows. It handles it well considering but I personally wouldn't want anything less for the big spotter.
I have been considering getting a small lightweight tripod for the hunts where I'm only using binos...
I chose 7 saum, but both of your options there are good ones. I'd lean to the 7ss just because of brass already setup to go. I went saum because I had the extra room with the Tikka. 3.0 is certainly doable for the saum I'm not much longer than that. But the 7ss should fit nicely

Pretty much any of them should. I chose Carbon 6 to do my 20" 7 saum with 8 twist. None of them will likely have it setting on the shelf, will have to be ordered. Or find a blank and have a smith do it.
I believe the savage ultralite with proof barrel is only 22" in the ackley in case you'd...
If it's a reputable company/store I wouldn't be too scared. If they want to make that part of their business they won't make it If they aren't honest about the condition.
If it's more like a pawn shop I'd be real cautious

Don't quote me on this but I beleive the new brownings have a 8.5 twist. Love my older brownings and the new ones are even better. 9 is going to cover most common bullets tho, especially if using factory ammo. The heavy coppers and very heavy lr bullets is where the faster twist comes into play...
