I have a pair of 8x42 Zeiss Victory SF’s with perfect glass that I will sell for $1600. They’re Gen 1 from 2016 and have some paint chipped on the top hinge. Safe secure transaction on our website and free shipping. I personally prefer these over the EL.

The 554 is a badass little scope, but that's kinda like bringing a pocket knife to a sword fight! Not that the 554 is going to disappoint, but the 99's image will be significantly brighter especially at first and last light. Probably 15 - 20 minutes difference per day in usable glassing light...
If there’s anyone out there looking to try the SF’s in 8x42, I have a set available. The glass is in excellent condition. They’re a gen 1 SF which is identical to the current SF except they have grey and black rubber armor and three click positions in the eyecups instead of four. They also made...

Don’t look through the 883 unless you have the money to buy it. I have the 55, 77, 88, and 99.
The 77 is a great value albeit at the expense of no fluorite glass. Still a great spotter but the 88 is simply on another level.

Yes, I have used both extensively… the aluminum is solid with no flex in the mount. It’s a little heavier of course. You can still get a little flex from the strap and rubber armor will flex if you were applying torque to the binocular, but not to the extent that would allow any vibration in...
12’s will naturally be at a disadvantage in low light due to the smaller exit pupil so keep that in mind. If they were 10’s you would be able to compare more directly the optical and coating performance.

The Leopoldo tripods are both made by LeoFoto - they’re the best options on your list.
Neither one has a center column for quick height adjustments which is better for keeping weight low and maximizing stability but requires more initial setup time whenever you go to glass. (They do have an...
