    Sub $400 scope

Trijicon huron is my go to budget scope. I don’t know if they’re built to the same standards as the more expensive models but they’ve been good so far.

Will they ever produce RL 26 again?

I did just pick up some N565 last week to try. So far H1000 is all I’ve used.

What do you consider a "chip shot"

My definition of a chip shot is if I feel no need to get closer unless I wanted to for the excitement factor. Ample time and a good conditions I’d say 400yds.

Will they ever produce RL 26 again?

Have never used RL 26 but been wanting to try some in a 6.5 prc. 4years of looking and I have yet to find any in the wild. I’m sure I could probably have got my hands on some online though.

    Burris Optics Overall Impressions/Reliability

They have pretty good glass and I have a fullfield 3x9 on a .223 that I don’t shoot much but scope seems ok. That said last Saturday I installed another 3x9 fullfield on a tikka 17hmr and stood it up against my work bench. Rifle fell and landed on wood floor. Must have landed on the scope...

Need some opinions on the Spot Hogg Triple Stack

I like mine. I use it as a single pin slider 99% of the time but it’s nice to have those 2 extra reference points if things happen fast. I was making extra reference marks on my single pin MBG long before anyone was making the multi pin sliders. Really prefer the sight picture of a single...

    Suppressor wait times getting faster

Just got a scythe ti and a rad22 approved in 34 days. Didn’t even have a threaded rimfire ready so ended up having to buy a tikka 17hmr they had in stock to be able to use the rad22.

    Youth 410

Stevens .410 is deadly on turkeys out to 40 with tss. Factory stock is long for kids so I cut mine down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Shotgun / Rifle Suggestions (Whitetail Hunting)

I would take a Cva in 350 legend over any shotgun if legal. Minimal recoil and ammo is available and reasonably priced. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Elk Rifle

Take a look at the Bushnell lrhs from GA Precision. Has been solid for me and seems to fit the criteria you’re looking for Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Someone conceded on the internet…this thread must be working because I thought that was impossible.

    Stevens 301 Experiences with Youth

I would recommend a red dot sight as a .410 with tss shoots a very small pattern. I have a Bushnell advance reflex on mine. Browning loads shot best with mine and federal was nearly as good. Didn’t try anything else. Length of pull on these guns is super long for a youth do I shortened the...

Lightweight Rifles with 5/8x24 Barrel Threads?

Adco firearms can add a shoulder on a skinny barrel for a suppressor to fit against. Believe grumpy sin Texas can as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Alaskan Air credit card miles?

I don’t believe Alaska air miles are valid for any partner airlines. When I’m booking flights with them it drastically cuts my available options when booking with miles.

    Joe Pickett TV show

The opening scene with the fake elk is terrible and it’s all downhill from there. In the middle of reading the books and was really looking forward to the show but it’s a big let down imho.

    Rental for sept hunt

With 3 guys pulling shifts driving, I wouldn’t even consider flying considering the added logistics with rental, meat etc. I have used turbo before and there some things to be aware of. 1 You are not to take the vehicle off pavement. 2 They can cancel at any time. If you show up and they decide...

    Paid load development flop, wwyd?

I’d load a few cases with his recipe and see what it does. Could be he had a 24 es when working up the load then got careless when doing the bulk loading. In that case I’d find a way to shoot the rest of his loads then load my own. Not ideal but at least you get 6.5 prc brass out of the deal...

    Elk 101 AK hunt

Wondered about not packing a load back to camp as well. I got the impression that they never packed the meat that way but a more direct route from kill site to the lake. Also I t’s easy to armchair quarterback. Perhaps mistakes were made but we weren’t there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
