    Yolo Bypass

I drew a reservation (#29) at Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area for 11/30. Never hunted it before, but here is what I've found out from some research: It's a large refuge with a small area for assigned blinds Hunting is typically better the closer you are to the freeway Only one guest when hunting...

    Packraft for waterfowling?

Has anyone used a packraft (have my eyes on Alpacka Raft) for waterfowl hunting? Will be hunting mostly marsh habitat, but a watercraft may also expand my hunting areas. The transport and portability, vs a kayak, is a big upside for me. I will also use it for hunting (crossing rivers) and...

    2022 California Bear

Let’s get this post started! After the fires ruined my bear hunting plans last year, we retrieved what was left of our trail cameras. Two disintegrated, one melted, one had the card swiped, but one had a gold mine of bears, deer, and some surprises. Post your scouting efforts and don’t...

    Nevada Waterfowl 2020 - 2021

I had one hell of a time learning to hunt waterfowl solo during the 2019 & 2020 season. With some off season research and talking to people who know what they were doing I was able to connect a few of the dots. I dove in head first after my big game hunts were over and started hunting waterfowl...

    2021 California Bear

Getting this thread started early in hoping to encourage others to pick up a bear tag this fall in California. Just spent a day scouting and setting cameras on the east slope. All of the fresh sign was near water sources. With how dry it is I think water will be king this year. Report how...

    Bergara Swivel Screw Size

I'm trying to attach a Spartan Precision universal gun adapter to my Bergara B-14 Hunter, but not of the screws provided match. None I have on hand fit either. They replace the sling swivel at the front of the gun. Anyone have an idea what screw size I should use to attach the bipod adapter?

On the search for a boot, again.

Hi all, I'll try to keep this short. My Crispi Idaho's aren't cutting it. Might have done some damage to my feet packing out my bull last September in them. I have wide, flat feet and need a stiff boot. I tried on the Crispi Briksdals last night and they felt good, but weren't wide enough...

    Nevada Area 7 Late Rifle

In addition to a great bull tag, I drew the late rifle buck season for 'big 7' in Nevada. I've hunted there before for elk, and have seen some great bucks on the late bull hunt in the Jarbidge. What I haven't hunted before is a season with such a high success and 4+ pts rate. Are the bucks...

    Nevada 221-223 Archery Bull Elk

Hi all, Well, to say I'm excited about the archery tag I drew this year would be an understatement. I already have some inside knowledge from friends about the hunt. I'm planning on sitting water and spot and stalk hunting the first week or so of the season, and if need be return for the last...

    Bergara B-14 sight in

Thought I'd share some results sighting in a Bergara B-14 in 308. The Nosler 165gr Accubonds shot the most consistent groups between the two boxes I picked up. The wind was definitely gusty yesterday, but many groups were close to or within one MOA at 200. I haven't had a chance to rifle...
