    Brittany Spaniel...

This post hits the nail on the head. My brittany, who is now 4 years old, was my first ever dog. I did lots of reading and liked the versatility of the breed being mild tempered and strong hunters. My britt is defiantly intelligent and devious. If he doesn't get the attention he wants/needs...

    Talk to your children :(

What a terrible situation, I’m so sorry for your loss. Social media is the worst thing a child/teenager can be connected to. The stresses of everyday life is bad enough, but TikTok, Snapchat and other platforms just add to it. Again, I’m sorry your family has to go through this.

    unit 95 Grizz attack

Wild story. A few takeaways, he was well trained and was able to clear a jam, this is another success story for the 10mm, 3 grizz encounters in such a short period is insane.

New career, getting out of law enforcement

Ironically, yes. Prior to getting into law enforcement I was in the commercial electrical field for 4 years. At that time there was huge competition getting accepted into the local union. Driving fast, carrying a gun and arresting bad guys sounded more fun at that time in my life.

New career, getting out of law enforcement

Great post. You aren’t the first person I’ve heard talk about identity. I’ve heard someone say it can take up to or longer than a year to return to “civilian” life. I’ll be reading your post a few more times. Thank you.

That’s a tough one. In the profession, especially as an investigator, you need to be both.

Thank you, that was a great post. I just finished up my shift and I’m going to re read it a few more times after some sleep. Sound advice on how to prepare for interviews.

I am fully vested, so if I leave the pension will still continue to grow with the market. I could begin drawing from it at normal LE retirement age.

I'll try and answer a bunch of people's questions in a single post. I'm late 30's. Digital forensics and coding is not for me. I like the networking advice a lot. The interesting part of my profession is you get looked at poorly by administration if they catch wind of you looking for other...

New career, getting out of law enforcement

I am hoping to get some positive feedback and advice, since this community is quite diverse. As of recently I have been quite burnt out with the profession due to administration, unusual schedule, and inability to attend family functions. Though I love the camaraderie of the profession, I think...

Facing hate as a NR? Just let them know

Oh, we hunt whitetail, but gun season is in November. That gives us September and October to hunt out west. If I had to choose, I’d give up all local hunting for one week out west a year.

Facing hate as a NR? Just let them know

Hey, what’s wrong with Wisconsinites? Midwest friendly. I’ll echo what other have said, for the most part I’ve had great experiences interacting with locals. I’ve been given free exclusive access to a ranch in WY, and been driven around by a guide in NM who didn’t have a client. Actually, I...
