9 year old first deer hunt with a rifle, any suggestions!
I bought my nine year old a Kopfjaeger shooting tripod. He has been abel to shoot several calibre accurately when attached to the tripod. He was able to kill a deer last week with a Tikka T3X in 6.5 Creedmoor.- Carrera72

Physical or Mental?
Sitting on a bull this year for two hours definitely was a mental challenge for us. Spotted him a long way off and made it within range only to watch him walk into a patch of trees and disappear. We were sweaty and it was cold as heck. I had to remind my partner that the hard work was done and... -

Guide to First Elk Hunt
Look at reservation hunts. I have been able to apply for reservation tags after state results were posted (Unsuccessful in state draw). This gives you more chances of getting a tag and being able to hunt. -

Killing the lead cow?
I was hunting a private ranch for elk and was advised to shoot the lead cow if they were leaving the ranch. If the herd was coming onto the ranch we were to let the lead cow go and kill a cow in the back of the herd. I hunted the ranch a couple of years and there seemed to be good success rates... -

I drew Unit 34 deer and my wife drew Unit 28 bull elk. She seems to always be the lucky one to draw tags. -
Helpful tips on How to ship game meat and antlers from Alaska
I appreciate the offer I may be headed that way Sept 2021. I should have done the Air Cargo option but did not look into it before I got up there.
