I am by no means an expert all i can provide is this years experience. I used a WM badger in CO at 10500 ft, this was my first time using down i normally use a kifaru slickbag -20deg. Budget Rangefinder

Is the stand alone GPS a thing of the past?
Still use my rino 750 just added a zoleo. The 750 has gotten me back to camp more than once in the dark and down off a mountain in the snow when we could not see the trail anymore.- TX1

I need a serious sleeping bag
No doubt down is warmer and lighter for equivalent temp rating my only concern is if it gets wet. I know if but in 2018 at 9k a front came in and my brothers tent filled up with water due to a bad choice on his part and his down bag got soaked.
