No trouble with expansion at distance gwl79902? I believe min impact velocity is 2000 and 2200 for significant expansion which would be out to around 300yds with the 168.
Hey thanks everybody. I appreciate the information and reassurance. If this thread is still up, I hope to post a photo of me with my Bear in September. Thanks to all.
Hey thanks for the input! Looks like i'll buy a box of each and then decide on one depending on accuracy. Personally I have my heart kind of set on the 168 for whatever reason. Just sounds like a heck of an all around bullet to me. How were the 150s on black bear? Wow wyoelk even a 100gr. Happy...
I've actually only used the 180g TTSX with 7 shots in 2 inches and many 1 inch groups. I probably should just give both a shot and hope for an obvious difference in accuracy. Something tells me they will shoot similarly though and I might as well flip a coin.
Yes, this will be my second season hunting and other than working out and practicing at the range I've been obsessing over bullets and gadgets for the upcoming season. Sorry if my questions are obscure.
I am looking for THE round for my Tikka T3 Superlite in 30-06. I will use this for coyote, whitetail, black bear, elk, and possibly cougar. I don't bait or hound hunt. Shots on game are always less than 300 yards and hopefully as close as I can get, so impact velocity and expansion should be in...
Thanks for the input. I am a little scared of using the copper on game despite rave reviews incase a long shot is needed. I would like to stick with one bullet for a while that will work with coyote, elk, whitetail deer, black bear, and if I'm lucky cougar.
I want to put the animals down first...
Hey thanks for the tip! I'd never heard of this site. Too bad those are 150g.
And too bad these are out of stock.

Alright for this hunt because of what my guide said, I will use a Partition. 165g or 180g? Also which factory loads are available? I've only seen Federal Premium and Sellier & Bellot. Would it be a good idea to get a friend to hand load some for best accuracy?
I know I'm putting too much thought into this and that all these combinations should work. If my guide had said to use the TTSX I'd be convinced. But his family has been hunting for bears for over half a century and I'm sure he knows what he's talking about, but I also assume he isn't caught up...
Hey thanks for this! Really great photos!! Looks like the e tips would easily open up on the thinnest skinned game, like a coyote. Do you notice any benefits other than a bunch of lead fragmenting into your animal? Better terminal performance or destruction? I just see a lot of benefits for both...
Wow that is a lot of damage with the 180 AB. Meat damage isn't too big of an issue with this game as I likely won't be able to save it all. Accuracy for me with the 180g AB surprisingly wasn't great either. Grizzly with a 180 AB? impressive.
From your opinions it seems like I would be good to...
