You can find factory tikka take-off barrels pretty cheap. You could always get another barrel for your ctr. And for that reason I would get the magnum bolt face so you can have one of each.
I don't think 270 is dying. I just think bullet manufacturers are slow to make the heavy high bc bullets. I think that 160-170 grains is the ideal grain weight for elk. And we are just waiting for more bullets than the game king.
A few years ago the military asked for a new 270, this is what...
I have the sissy stix. I don't think they call them that anymore. But I really like the design of the aluminum lower with the carbon upper. I would recommend them. Or i do believe that black diamond has a set sharing the same design if you have some sort of vendetta against peax for some reason...
I know you said you were looking at a marlin. But henry has the 360 buckhammer that I'm pretty impressed with. The case is the same form factor as the 45-70 but it shoots. 358's the same as the 35 whelen.
If i wanted something heavy in 45 caliber the only option I would entertain is the...
I think the leather looks fine. I usually have holes in the leather or the seams have ripped long before the sole goes bad. Those boots don't look bad at all
Bass pro shops are keeping the left hand t3x in 350 legend in stock. That's how I got mine, I've only been following this thread hoping to get a take- off barrel. I did find one and it showed up today.
But somehow I got an email for one of these rifles and have no recollection of signing up for...
Unfortunately I can't find that info, 5 digit serial numbers would make me assume so, the bolts aren't interchangeable between the standard and magnum. And the standard is a cross bolt/ eject so i assume they weren't production models. But neither have factory barrels on them. And one is stamped...
Reviving and old thread, is this also true for the m65? I just picked up a pair of them and I'm trying to find info on them. Also trigger compatibility? The previous owner turned one into a "hair" trigger and id like to replace it.
I think the exo bags carry a little small for their posted sizes. I used the 5000 for 2 seasons and it was barely big enough for a weeks worth of food. Compared to my friends 5000 eberlestock bag is seems like he could pack twice as much stuff in his. I just upgraded to the terretrorn.
I have that issue from time to time, it depends on how i dry the boots after they get soaked. Leather will shrink if it gets wet then heated. Both my thorogoods and my zamberlans have had that issue.
Get yourself some boot stretchers off of Amazon. When I take off my zamberlans the stretchers...
Last year we kept a ruger takedown in the truck. Ended up shooting a couple grouse with it. But for backpacking I wouldn't carry a rifle. Get yourself a taurus tx22 pistol. Cheap, and they shoot well. Mine will cycle the Aguila subsonics. But struggled with the fragmenting cci subbies.
I have an Ares 1-10x lpvo i dropped close to 17 feet when getting settled into my tree saddle. Zero shifted about 3 inches to the right. Aside from that it's been solid.
