How does your job prepare you for the mountain?

I tell ya man if youre used to carrying 30-40 pounds of equipment up and down stairs all day that's a damn good start. I'd definitely supplement that with more cardio. Going from 700 feet to 11200 was definitely rough

Anything to do near Dallas in May?

April and may is the only time it rains all year in North texas. I worked in sherman last year and I think there was 1 or 2 nights it didnt rain. I forgot about Cinnamon Creek too. Never shot there but they seem to have a pretty sweet setup

Anything to do near Dallas in May?

That's easier said than done when you get a second shower from the inch of rain you got overnight evaporating

Bullet and powder suggestions needed 6mm ARC

I think it was like a 7.5 or 8.25. Something weird. He got it because it was literally the only barrel over 20 inches he could find at the time. Just looked on BA website and i can't find that barrel anymore

Bullet and powder suggestions needed 6mm ARC

My dad has thousands of rounds through his arc trying to get a good load. Every reputable powder gave him stupid good es and sd but he could not get better than 1.25 moa unless he got the velocity down to around 2400fps out of a 26 inch barrel. He dropped to 75 grain vmax and dramatically shrunk...

    First Lite System Help

Are you talking about the back pocket stitching or the main ones? I have somewhere in the ballpark of 70 days on a pair of wranglers and the only stitching failure was the back pockets where I keep my chew can.

    Looking for new camo system

Exactly. Don't be afraid to get something "off brand" either. I got a 30 dollar mountain hardwear grid fleece on amazon that saw close to 50 or 60 days in the field this year and if it wasn't for needing some tp I'd be using it next year too.

    Heavy duty wool clothing

Take a look at the asbell wool pathfinder. It is thinner than say a johnson woolen mills jacket but it's surprisingly warm for how thin it is plus if you order your regular size you can layer up properly.

    Looking for new camo system

Yeah mixing and matching is the way to go. You can get it done a lot cheaper that way. Scheels will probably have some decent sales coming up soon. The first lite merino stuff treated me very well this year.

    .243 deer bullet choice

When I shot ssts out of my 270 it was literally a softball sized hole if you hit bone. That being said probably only 20 percent of the deer i killed with it ran less than 50 yards. A buddy of mine used a 243 with hornady American whitetails which I believe is an sst without the polymer tip. The...
