    St Louis

The best craft beer in the STL area is at Friendship Brewing in Wentzville. They also have a place out in Flint Hills. It is a bit outside the city, but it is worth it.

    Suppressor purchase from Silencer Central

I think there may be a bit of confusion on this particular subject. I will start this by saying that I am in no way defending Silencer Central because I think they are dog-crap, but I do want to clear something up. The notification that is sent by Silencer Central and Capitol Armory isn't the...

Anyone have experience with a 20 inch 300wm?

If you can, just chop your 7 Mag. For 500 yards and in, losing 100-150 fps won't make much of a difference.

    Deer cartridges with minimal recoil

I honestly don't think you would be able to tell the difference. The BT will punch right though.

    Deer cartridges with minimal recoil

The 95 grain Winchester Silvertips are just fine in a 1:10". As are the 100 grain Core-loct from Remington, and the 100 grain Federal SPs. @Skydog , in regards to your question about the Accubond over the BT, the guys have already pretty much answered the question, but I will chime in to say I...

    Deer cartridges with minimal recoil

The 90 grain BT will be just fine if you want to go that way. The 95 grain Winchester is a NBT, just coated black. To be completely honest, if you are limiting your range to around 300 yards, the "cheap" factory Federal, Winchester, or Remington ammo with 100 grain Soft Points will be just...

    Deer cartridges with minimal recoil

A fast twist .243 has a 1:8" twist and will shoot the heavier 6mm bullets like the 108 to 115 grain bullets. "Standard" twist is 1:10" and will handle most of the factory offerings that are out there for the .243. The 95 grain NBT is a certified (by me ;) ) deer killer and will work just fine...

    Recommendations for rechamber

I have a Tikka 6.5 Creedmoor barrel that I pulled off of a new donor that I want to have have chopped, threaded, and rechambered to 6.5-06AI. It will be the replacement for the current 6.5-06AI barrel that I have that has a few more than 300 rounds on it. I have used Kampfeld for cutting and...

There is no animal that is tougher than any other.

I had the pleasure of hunting them last May. Mine took a 162 grain ELDX from my 7-08AI and went about 25 yards before tipping over. Shot was ranged at 382. Hit was bottom 1/3, straight up the leg (very, very slight quarter towards). Another one from that same hunt took four 190 grain LRXs...

So, the question that I have is; does the chrono cover match the Crocs?

    6.5 G to 22 ARC Conversion

Yep. Not sure what you are using in terms of a gas system (block, rifle/carbine, etc) or buffer, so those may need to be tweaked to get optimum performance, but you bolt and mags are the same between the two.

There is no animal that is tougher than any other.

That is interesting. And it also helps to understand why these "debates" on forum usually turn to crap. The reason I say that is because of the 20+ black bear kills I have been a part of (11 killed by me), I have only seen one that ran and ran. It was shot with a bow and the shooter shot it...

Breaking the Echo Chamber: Combating Misinformation and Toxic Behaviors in the Hunting and Shooting Community

Fragmenting bullets versus controlled expanding bullets

Serious question. What do you consider "medium ranges"? I am asking because it seem that you are saying that 400 yards is past "medium" range.

    223, 223AI, or 22 ARC? Which one?

I'll tell you what. If you go that route and end up not liking it, PM me and I will take it off your hands.

There is no animal that is tougher than any other.

Having spent a lot of time living in states with liberal bag limits, agriculture that allows for depredation permits, exotics, and hogs, I can echo your comments. If you take out what makes them tick, they, surprisingly, stop ticking. But, just like all animals, each one is different and even...

Starline Brass, the good, the bad, the ugly

I have had pretty good results with Starline. I am using it for the following: 7TCU (223 virgin) 6.5 Grendel 6.5 Creedmoor 7-08 45 Colt So far I haven't had an issue with it. Please note that I don't load hot and I anneal after initial shooting/fireforming and then every second firing after...
