You should be able to tell from your tag number. I had tag #7, and there were up to 10 NR tags available in the bonus pass. If your tag number is higher than 10 I think that means you got a tag in the random drawing.
I have found the missing cap in the Swarovski parts catalog & will be ordering that so I'm going to close this one down for now.
I'll relist it with new pictures when it comes.
I'm from Wisconsin, so long drive here too.
I've got a few friends in AZ that also have tags (1 bull & 2 cow) and will be sharing a camp with them.
Flatline map is ordered and I've been studying OnX. This is going to be great!
I sure know your pain. Spent a lot of years crashing back to earth after getting my hopes dashed.
I hope you eventually get the tag you've been waiting for and that it is everything you always hoped it would be.
I know I'm not the only one still sitting on pins and needles waiting for the portal update.
So what's your over/under bet on when the update will come? Let's set a time of 10am MT on Friday - St Patty's Day.
Over? Under?
I know it doesn't really matter. It will come when it comes and based...
DIY without a doubt. 14 points is way too many to waste on a 5-7 day guided hunt. I'd want a minimum of two weeks, more if you can afford them.
You could certainly do worse than take cnelk up on his offer.😉
Apply in Montana yourself this year and your brother buys another point. Your points will be gone if you draw of course. Then next year your brother buys his 3rd point, you buy one for yourself plus another outfitter point. Applying together as a group you'll have a 2.5 average and a good...
Another member here caught something I hadn't even noticed. On the back side of the focus ring there is supposed to be a little plastic cap and is gone as shown in this picture. It doesn't affect the function, but it is something I want to be upfront about it. Sorry I missed that in my...
For New Mexico the outfitter will buy the tags and use them for hunters he books.
I'm not that familiar with Montana but could you each just buy a point this year without applying and still keep the points you have now? Then you'd have 3 and your brother could buy one this year and another...
Great pair of Swarovski 8.5x42 ELs. There is some worn anodizing on the bridge from being in and out of a bino harness which is where they have spent most of their life. They have been well cared for and the body and lenses are excellent.
They have served me well but I have another nice pair of...
At least it's better than what Montana pulled when they sent out tags to some people only to turn around and say - "Whoops! Sorry, that was sent out by mistake. You really don't have a tag..."
Not necessarily I don't think. It could be that all of the bonus pass tags in my first choice unit were taken by people with more points than I had by the time my name came up.
I had 16 points going in this year. Last year in my 2nd choice unit 40% drew with 16 points and my 1st choice unit needed 17. So I actually figured that with even minimal point creep the only chance I would have was in random. I wasn't really counting on this tag, but with tag #7 apparently I...
My first choice had 7 tags in the bonus pass and my second choice had 10.
My portal says I have tag number 7 which tells me nothing that I can figure out.
On pins and needles, and sure wish I had opted in for E-tags before the draw. But either way it turns out, I'm stoked.
