Well they came in today but something just doesn’t feel right. I’m 6’ 175 with a size 10 foot and a 32” inseam, so pretty much square in the middle of the medium size. I feel like I’m sagging them otherwise the crotch is up to my belly button
Look at the picture online vs mine up as high...
Looks like a Grip6 belt without the curved buckle or swappable strap. Seems neat at first, but when I'm halfway through processing a critter in the field and hands are covered in blood/funk I'm not sure I want to be messing with my belt.
after typing it out and thinking it over last night, I think the Headwaters Pro is the right choice. I won't be living in them all season and as much as I would like to fish a few days a week it just isn't going to happen. That $200 can buy a lot of flies.
I’m trying to decide on waders as well, but stuck between the Headwaters Pro for $300 or splurging on the G3 for $510. The Headwaters Pro is probably more than enough wader for something I’ll likely only use during shoulder seasons (I like to wet wade in water shoes when it gets hot out here)...
I just hit buy on the El Coyote 20* quilt in Regular/Wide, $349 + shipping. I am 6" 175 and it will be paired with a Exped Synmat UL Winter LW. Transitioning from car camping to backpack camping so I have a trip at the end of the month in the eastern Sierras to test out an all new sleep...
I'm about the same size but like a 35" sleeve. I wish the Swazi Hood sleeve was just a bit longer but its not too bad. Good for layering to not have a ton of extra sleeve though.
Like new Sig Sauer Sierra6BDX riflescope in 3-18x44. This scope is awesome but isn’t right for my hunting conditions, I can’t use it to its full potential. Use alone, with the app, or pair with a BDX rangefinder/binoculars and get instant custom ballistic solutions for your rifle and bullet...
I just got in the Exped Synmat UL Winter LW, it’s pretty nice. I love how quiet it is compared to the Xtherm MAX I checked out at Sportsmans Warehouse. 5.2R and 3.5” thick because I am a side sleeper. 28 oz for the LW.
I’ve been looking at the El Coyote Quilts too, trying to decide between 10...
A lucky shot for sure. We are on a trip right now so it’s just the JPG out of the camera. When I get home I’ll mess with the RAW and try to sharpen it up a bit.
We were driving down a dirt road yesterday and saw a hawk sitting on a log. I rolled down the window and snapped one picture then drove off. Here it is cropped a bit:
This rarely happens with anything on TV these days, but I had an ear-to-ear smile watching this entire episode. I’ve never heard of a paddlefish before, and I was exhausted just watching them try and snag one. It looked like everyone was having a genuinely good time and really getting after...
Have you used the Xtherm Max in summer conditions to know if it feels too hot? The regular weighs 1lb 1 oz, large is 1lb 7oz so not much weight penalty for using the same pad all year.
I thought Tikka had a smooth action, this is better. And about a pound lighter fully dressed with a 3” longer barrel. Here she is with Talley Lows and a Leupold VX3 2.5-8 B&C:
I took a really bad video of the issue with both my phone and camera off-hand, hard to keep both subjects in frame! But it shows the constant hunting in C-AF I was trying to explain. You will just have to trust me that it does this even when I’m not double fisting cameras
