I think you started in a good spot with the black hunter. I have one as a backup in lighter poundage for late winter stand hunting. It has a great feel to it, superior to the Samick sage type bows(IMHO). If you are shooting it well, I would spend the money on hunting. A higher end custom bow...
My kids shoot a Compact Tikka 7mm-08. Rangework is done with 100 grain Sierra and a reduced charge of h4895. Hunting is done with a 120g Nosler ballistic tip and mid range charge. I just sight in the gun right before hunting season with the 120grain load. When the season is over, I rezero with...
They are pretty tough, I’ve only used them for stumping though. I liked the concept, but like bobinmi said, you need to spend a lot of time spin testing before you glue the outsert on. I tried them, but now I have moved on.
I always brush my pockets then clean/tumble. Your pockets looks fine.
Side note: When tumbling with steel you are work hardening the brass to some degree. Great for the lower half of your brass but not so much for the necks. I spend more time using the ultrasonic now and reserve the tumbling...
I’ve tried Easton axis trad, black eagle instincts, regular Easton axis. I’m back to regular Easton axis. They always spin true and the components are so easily to come by and make tuning a breeze. I use a dremel with the cutoff disc to trim shafts.
I’ve only used a hand primer, but have never had this issue. Are you cleaning the primer pockets with a wire pocket cleaner? This is the only thing I do to the pockets between firings. Never used a uniformer.
I went with the compact tikka for my daughters. It is a sub moa shooter with 100gr sierras, 120 gr nbt, 140 nab. All handloads. I like that the stock comes with a spacer so that I can shoot it and they can grow into it. I Would buy it again if I had to do it all over.
