Teach Backcountry Navigation with this one easy trick!

I feel similarly about people who opt for a helium filled Mylar balloon on the roadside to help their friends and family find a group RV site. Seems great…until I’m hiking out of my way to pull your trash from the backcountry where the lost balloon settled.

    Revic BLR10b Rangefinding Binoculars

I would 2nd that there is a difference between quality and capability. I’m sure the spy satellite cameras give far better capability to pick up detail from miles away than my iPhone camera, but I’m not going to bash my iPhone as poor quality because it doesn’t have a $1bn build of materials...

Very nice. Makes me wonder if I should have stayed with my original single color rather than change to a ripped pattern. I’ll also be restocking a Swede and I’m considering cutting it for a suppressor. Can you comment on the load/MV you’re seeing from yours?

Dog wont eat dry food well

My previous dog went through something similar. Switching foods or flavors was recommended but did not work. We then had a vet recommend a probiotic (Proviable-DC) and after a week or two she started eating again and we never had another issue until she passed. It is an ‘add on’ but far...

    Let’s discuss the 6.5x55 SE

The long throat allows you to load to a longer COAL before you hit the lands, giving you an increase in case capacity.

    Would you buy this scope?

Since I’d chimed in on the off topic 6x discussion: Yes. Preferably $1000ish. My primary concern would be timing, as I’m in the market to change out my current scope and I’d prefer to not buy/sell immediately nor wait years for this scope to appear on the market.

    Grebe identification

There are actually a few different types of grebes and I would second picking up a birding ID guide and spending some time with binos just birding, but while some grebes can be hard to identify vs other grebes…none look like ducks. Here is a good online resource...

    Would you buy this scope?

Correction: wrong scope; link below is not the PIi https://www.schmidtundbender.de/en/products/hunting/6x42-klassik.html

Lost hunter out of Seven Devils Area,Riggins Idaho.

Yep. Whenever I see smoke on a lightning free day I think “a—hole idiot camper” not “I need to start a rescue!” A whistle, I’d go investigate. But a BOOM…that just makes me think about being a crappy hunter compared to whoever just punched their tag.

Should we send this thread to FEMA? I can’t imagine why both local, state, and federal authorities aren’t pulling out all stops to get Rokstok production back on track.

Randy, looking forward to seeing your review. It looks like you do not have the range enhancers at this time, correct?

Glad to hear that everyone is well. In the grand scheme of woes, a stock delivery delay is insignificant compared to the loss of life and property people are suffering.

Thanks. I skimmed that video on YouTube but I haven’t had the time to devote an hour plus to watch the whole thing. I’m primarily interested in whether the range enhancer make it worth it for an all in one. Warranty…eh, that’s a hard call since all things have some failure rate and I agree I...

Any of these been in the wild hunting yet? I’m curious about real world experience, particularly on using the range extenders to replace a spotter and thoughts on 10x vs 12x.

    Amazon Prime Deals?

I picked up a discounted wheeler external action wrench for a bit over $50. Sadly free Tikka barrel removal is not a Prime benefit.

    Solo hunting

I started hunting late in life and initially had trouble with solo hunts due to concerns from the wife. A good safety plan helped (particularly Inreach check-ins…which also help with the pride aspect when you can report out Elk down!). But in retrospect many of the issues also tied to work...

    Checking in from IL

Welcome! I’ve been looking forward to heading bac to Chicagoland to see family this summer; it’s been years since I’ve had a decent hotdog. But as a fellow flatlander by birth, I understand the draw of the mountains. It’s been more than twenty years since I headed West and I won’t be moving...

    RokStok

I had a dream last night that UM emailed to say that they would be filling my Rokstok order with a recent customer return despite my late Feb order date. Through the dream haze I couldn’t decide if I was excited for my good fortune …or pissed off that they were shipping me a stock in gloss...

    DRT Terminal Shock Load Data

I’m interested to see how the N555 load work goes. The VV SKAN data shown is for a 670mm barrel, so a bit more that 7inches longer than what you’ve got. I havent loaded DRT yet, but following here before trying. With 140gr partitions and a standard 570mm/22.3” Tikka I was seeing some...
