Any terminal ballistics reports on the heavy/high BC 270 bullets?

Took 5 critters last season and 2 additional in 2021 with 175gr .277 Sierra TGK's in my 6.8W. All of them died quickly and only had one requiring a follow up shot due to a poorly placed first shot. All were pass throughs. Pronghorn Buck-200yds Pronghorn Doe-350yds Bull Elk-500yds Mule Deer...

    Kuiu Ridgepoint?

Its a great looking piece, but I don't see the value for $200. I would consider picking up a ridgeline if was lower price. I don't see the advantage of it over the peleton 240, other than its a camo/solid hybrid color.

    Truck Camper Shells

I saw one of these Moonlanders driving around in the woods a while back. Interesting hybrid between a topper and a camper. https://www.radicaproducts.com/moonlander

    6.8 Western Brass

I've read a thread or two suggesting fireforming of 7SAUM brass from ADG in their 6.8 Western, but I'm curious if anybody actually has tried it? I've got lots of Winchester brass in 6.8W, but it just doesn't feel well made. My Browning headstamp nickel brass is doing the job. According to...

Long throated 270WSM loads for 175gr TGK

I've had best luck with H4831SC out of my 6.8W. I used 270WSM data to get in the ball park on my 6.8 loads, so they're pretty interchangeable. Here's my load info for my 6.8W, but work up to it. 175 TGK 58gr H4831SC Fed LRMag 215 0.020" off land

The 6.8 Western, By Jesse Werner

Over the past couple of years that I've been shooting this round, I've had overall great success finding availability of components. Just wishing someone beside Winchester/Browning would make brass. Personally, I had better luck finding the components for my 6.8 over my 30-06 until recently.

    Any Engineers on Here

I'm a welding engineer and work with welding automation/robots. I'm a big advocate for getting a job in manufacturing to keep everything made in the USA. All of my customers (manufacturers) are desperate for folks willing to work in manufacturing. A mechanical engineer with an associates in...

    Antler Darkening (opinions wanted)

I use coffee grounds on sheds and freshen up my mounts. I rub the used coffee grounds in my yard with a set of latex gloves. Works great and add a little bit of chocolate color to the mounts. I never touch the antler tips though; leave those alone (lighter). I've used wood stain and I've found...

Inconsistent shoulder bump? What am I doing wrong?

May want to look at annealing since the brass is twice fired and you didn’t encounter this last time. Just an idea.

    Sierra Game King performance

Dead buck, so looks like it did the job. I've been very happy with the performance I've seen personally with Sierra TGK. Been shooting 175gr Sierra Tipped Game Kings the last 2 seasons in my 6.8 Western. All pass throughs. Elk were shot between 40yds to 500yds. Antelope and Mule Deer were 100...

    6.8 Western Success - 6x7 Elk + Muley

Congrats on the animals and its great to see another 6.8 Western put to work. Mine has stacked up multiple pronghorn and elk this year with no issues. Very cool to see the POI between your two loads matching up. I hadn't thought about carrying multiple loads around until now...although it does...

7prc just slayed the 6.8 Western

I also get the impression that the 6.8 W is getting nosed backwards by the PRC's of Hornady. Lots of hype already. I have a 6.8 and I absolutely love it. It's a great all around western long range gun that my kids can easily shoot too. I shot a cow at 40yds last year and my son shot a bull at...
