My dad only has 1 shotgun he got new in 1980, but my grandpa's gave his to his son and he sold it for cheap. I don't sell guns. Everyone I have has a story and value to me not worth $$$.
My favorite rifle is a 1962 Remington 760 ... I wish it had family history... it will when I'm done...
I had mine removed laparoscopically (3 small incisions). I would not count on a pack this fall. Realistically, 6 weeks downtime, then 4 weeks restricted movement/weight. That puts you at start of Mid July or Early August to actually workout.
You have to remember to get to your appendix, they...
As someone who lives in a bit more crowded state. Monday starts turkey season here in NJ. I keep an orange hat and vest in my pack. If im moving, looking to strike a gobbler, i'll wear the orange hat. If successful, orange hat and vest over the turkeys body. Some 80+ percent of hunting accidents...
Only need 60 credits to be a sub teacher. Most schools pay $100+ per day, can choose when to work, 6 hour days and basically show up and be a warm body. Read a book while kids sit on their chrome books and do work left for them.
Also a great foot in the door if she wants to peruse full time, a...
Kubota has multi direction hydraulics (lift AND tilt bucket at same time) and takes normal skid steer attachment. That alone is worth more to me than a color or name brand. Even if the Kubota shop was 2x the distance.
JD has lift OR tilt, unless you find the g spot on the machine and JD only...
Just dont use instant coffee. I take regular coffee and tie up the grounds in a coffee filter and use it like a tea bag. Or cowboy coffee works too.
Never could find an instant coffee I liked, and im not even a coffee snob. It's just not the same.
I absolutley hate kayaks. Cant fish well from one, doesnt carry enough gear for duck season. But I also dont need a 15' canoe. I keep my eye out for a 9' solo canoe. That would be the best of both worlds.
Since you mention a second person, a kayak is out of the question. You might be better...
In NJ, early season is called 'earn a buck'. Must shoot a doe to earn your buck tag. I see guys tagging fawns and does still dripping milk. I have no idea how they do it.
I made this mistake 1 time when i was 19 and had a lost wandering fawn around all season. Felt awful every time I saw it.

That's awesome. I worked for Acadia for a little bit. Pickle wrinkled, and tinder hearth, south near blue hill were two staples I tried to take family and friends.
Checking out the wrinkled menu, it looks a bit more upscale food than it was in 2019-2020. I remember Friday was all you can eat...
The Pickled Wrinkle, Birch Harbor, Maine. Great local dive bar with awesome food.
I know this is a western forum, but if you ever go to Acadia NP, it's only 45min from the Bar Harbor. Worth the drive. If your brave enough, even try eating a pickled wrinkle. (carnivorous sea slug that sticks to...
I have the stoeger m3500, the toyota if franchi is a lexus. I have never had an issue with the gun besides rust, and that's mostly on me hunting salt marsh. Beat the gun up for 10 years now, repainted and only cleaned once at the end of every season.
Only gripe - when the recoil lug is...
I might be writing a sequel to this story. I know damn well my 30' above sea level running and heavy bag hikes will not be enough for the first mountain I see out west. But like @jayhawk said - I saw meat eater once doesn't look to hard /s.
The first time I tracked deer on snow, I didn't see a...
Being from NJ, it's been a dream to go out west and have an opportunity. Spent a few years researching states, learning draws, seeing odds, building points. All of my buddies want to go too. But when it comes to actual work, no one else is building points nor researching units and figuring...
I voted punching a tag. The adventure is the best part, but you never reach the summit without a filled tag. I could go hiking and save money. Cooking back strap months later is part of it too. Sure, I've learned a heck of a lot on trips where I ate tag soup, and I remember them. But the trips...
I'll take OP's side. I used to let everything idle for a bit, now with gas cars, when the auto choke finishes, i'll start to drive. Slowly until well onto the thermostat.
The diesel truck, I used to be an let it idle guy, but it's pointless. Common rail or newer cummins CAN NOT get warm at...
Mine is a 1962, 30-06 game master, cut the barrel down to 18 inches with a sawzall and finished with files. Happy I got one before the prices went crazy. I remember when they were $350 all day long on used gun racks.
While i've never been out west, nothing compares to north east tracking. Finally got to wield the muzzleloader on saturday in NJ with some fresh snow. Only got flurries on my vermont trip this year. Last maine trip was a bust with no snow the week before thanksgiving.
When planning on going...
Keep the 7.3, higher resale value and gets the same mpg as a 15 year newer tundra. That way, you always have the option to tow if needed/wanted. and get rid of the least fuel efficient car for the most efficient.
