I’m a eastern/midwest hunter with plans to go west for hunting next year or 2022. Buying some new binos, was originally set on 10’s but now contemplating 8’s now being a whitetail hunter mainly. Anyone have experience with both ? Had 10x42 EL’s last year and upgrading to the NL’s and thinking...
Selling my EL’s because I upgraded to the NL’s. Bought them this summer before I knew NL’s were coming out. $1600 plus fees, comes with everything but the sticker from original packaging

It will be my first backcountry hunt, I’ve been trying to slowly work on a gear list but I know it’s not complete yet and will need more. Appreciate the input and advice though!
Appreciate the advice! I’ve got a decision to make soon
PM will be coming, thanks for the input. I’m wanting my...
That’s the sole reason I’m considering a guided hunt. I want to learn as much as possible at first and I feel like guided hunts are the way to get my feet wet. Takes away alittle of the reward but the reward is still a elk and I’d be happy with one from a guided hunt but maybe not as much as a...
I have considered semi guided but hear a lot of negatives on drop camps, that’s the only reason I’ve considered fully guided or DIY. Obviously a big jump there but just heard horror stories for semi guided trips, not saying they’re all bad though

That’s awesome! Those are some of the goals I have in my head of hitting for the first hunt if I was to do a DIY. If I chose guided, my goals change because the price does too. I’ve been spending a lot of time on onX for around here and fighting it out and occasionally I go out west and look...
Thanks man! Appreciate the help. There’s so much for out west and putting points in with units that I need to learn. Midwest whitetails aren’t like this..

That’s what I don’t want either, I guess I’m asking a lot possibly from a guided hunt. I backpack hunt public land around here but I know it’s nothing like the out west mountains

I need some more posts before I can start a PM but once I get there, I’m going to send you one. Can’t get into my old account so had to start fresh. If I choose a outfitter, I want to do a mountain hunt in terrain I’d be doing myself, not really interested in a private land hunt. My first hunt I...
That’s what has been going through my mind also. I know I can go out west for cheaper DIY multiple times than one guided hunt
I was leaning guided to get the ropes down alittle easier than learning from DIY if i’ve never been.
Back east, I only hunt state ground. Backpack and hike in, stay...
