After thinking about it , the thicker jacket makes sense on the eldm bullet. I’m going to go this route. -

I’m shooting them at 2970 bergers and 3100 for the other two. That’s plenty and there more then accurate -

Opinions on what bullet
I have 3 bullets that shoot fantastic out of my 7mag. 160 Speer sp, 175 Berger, 162 eldx. All three are groping 1/2” to 5/8”. What would you pick for elk? -

Xbolt help… stripped scope mount hole
I think you are fine with 7 screws. If anything put a bit of jb weld on it and let it set up. My brother did the same thing and 5 years later he’s still using it. -
