So I got home from an elk hunt and was in a hurry to get the quarters into the chest freezer. Like an idiot I didn’t separate the quarters and now they are frozen together and also to the walls of the freezer. Do i need to thaw my freezer to get them separated or does anyone have any helpful...
I hunt with both a 300 WSM and a 6.5 PRC. For hunting purposes the WSM wins hands down for knock down power on deer sized game and up, for longer range shooting and smaller game the PRC is a dream to shoot. Totally depends on what your intentions with the rifle are.
Do you guys think my arrows set up would be ok for elk? At the moment I’m shooting a 27” axis with stainless RPS inserts, 463 grains with a 125 grain broadhead. Hoyt Defiant Turbo with a 29” draw, haven’t shot it through a chrono in a while.
I do reload my own ammo, been using 165gr SGK Hollowpoints and they do some serious damage! I have some Accubonds and TTSX’s on the shelf, will work on a load for them this winter. Do you mind sharing what powder you prefer to use with the 180’s?
Well it’s decided, I’m going to pass on a new rifle and spend some money on what I have. I wish there were more options for aftermarket X-Bolt stocks, nice to see that Timney now makes a trigger assembly for them though. Thanks for the input everyone, you all helped me make up my mind and save...
Well it sounds like I should keep shooting my WSM. I also have a 6.5 PRC that hammers deer and antelope so my bases should be covered. Thanks for the help.
What do you guys recommend? I currently have a 300WSM X Bolt and really like it but am toying with the idea of getting a 28 Nosler. Is it worth it to buy another rifle/scope setup or just keep shooting the 300?
