I have experience with the Meostars and the SLD HD, but not the older version of the Swaro 15s. The Meostar 15 is really really close to the SLC HD 15... the only real advantage I noticed with the SLC HD was the field of view was a little wider in the Swaro HD. From what I understand the...
I think Sirui makes pretty decent stuff (...in China), and that deal on Cameraland looks pretty good. I say give them a call tomorrow and see what they can do for you. With the mail in rebate, I don't think that's a bad deal at all. The 1.3kg weight is just the legs and I imagine the whole...
Thats pretty reasonable. I'm a huge fan of 8x binoculars - especially when getting cheaper ones - and would recommend getting the 8x42 if you can find a good deal on them. Seems like the imperfections of cheaper binoculars are more prone to show up as you increase magnification.

I have a new (NIB) pair of Roclite G275 Graphene Grip shoes (I tried on the left shoe for a whole 3 seconds). They are Black/Yellow color and size Men's 13 (Euro 47). I ordered a couple different sizes and the others fit me better. Here's a link to the shoes: Inov-8 Roclite G 275. Asking $80 TYD
One tidbit of info I might toss in, for those who keep their rangefinders warm from body heat or hand warmer, is that quite a few of these rangefinders will provide their ballistic compensated distances based partially on the temperatures it is perceiving. If you're keeping it at 65 degrees but...
I have had a set of 8x42s for a couple years now, and I honestly love them for the price (I paid $140 used, but like new). My plan was to let my son use them, but I ended up keeping them as a backup/beater pair. I have cycled through a lot (maybe 8? 12?) of upper/high end binoculars since...
I actually just went through and read/watched all the Rokslide articles and RokBlogs on Mule Deer (thank you COVID19 and Robby Denning!). They can be found by hitting the Home button up top, then scrolling to the "Popular Categories" at the bottom and selecting "Mule Deer." There's 169 posts...
I used to be a Leica RF fanboy... until I tried using my 2000-B in a little fog. I could see elk with my eyes, but absolutely could not get a range on it (kept reading between 70-150y, when I was obviously looking at something much farther). My brother was carrying my older (and cheaper)...
I'm curious what your cheaper 15s were? I've had 12x50 ELs and now use Meostar 15x56s. I hate saying it, but once I started carrying 8s around my neck I realized how unstable I really am when free-handing, and I just found that the 12x ELs weren't ever being used unless on a tripod... and then...
A couple years ago I bought a Gen 2 85mm angled Razor HD, and a few good buddies had the Gen 1 85mms (one also had a Gen 2 for a brief time) so I got a decent feel for both of the 85mms anyway. My take was that the Gen 2 was brighter, had a wider field of view, possibly a little sharper...
With a pistol grip, it can be difficult to pan through a grid accurately, unless there is an actual "pan" feature built in (or you ad one - like with the Outdoorsmans). I believe most pistol grip/joystick heads function basically as a basic ballhead with a pistol grip to quickly adjust tension...
If you can hold a 12x50 still enough to use free-handed, then you'll probably be happy with just them. It didn't work for me.
I've had those Meostar 12x50s for a time and the Swarovski ELs as well. They really are excellent glass (the Swaro is amazing, but the Meostar isn't far behind it). I...
