I don’t suppose you’d be interested in trading it for a very lightly used McWhorter 6.5prc?
I had it built 3yrs ago and have put less than 30 rounds through it. It has a 24” Proof carbon wrapped barrel (Sendero), Defiance Anti-X action, blended 3 port brake, and has one of their custom paint...
I have a Swaro Z8i…..2.3-18x56….with the 4W+ reticle, which is a basic duplex with an illuminated dot in the center…..and it’s perfect, no bleeding and unbelievably crisp. I own all the scopes u listed…..the S&B Polar (4-16x56) and Exos (3-21x50) and the 2.4-16x56 Magnus.
The Swaro is def...
Bump for some fine glass…..i had one in the past and traded for higher magnification……dumb move considering I never crank my scopes up past 12-13x anyway.
I once carried it along with another rifle + scope to the blind one evening. The other rig had a Swaro z5 and I put them both side by...
Bump for one fine build. I wish I needed one but I don’t. With all the new calibers getting so much attention, we forget that the 7mm RM is still one of the most versatile.
Well you got a helluva deal on some top shelf glass. I had one until some loser broke into my vehicle and helped themselves.
It’s a touch on the heavy side but it’s right there w/ NF for build durability and being indestructible. Plus the optical quality is second to none. You’ll love it.
I have a member of my immediate family that was an executive at 3 different well known optics manufacturers…..both in the US and Europe. He’s the typical engineer geek with the mustard stain on his shirt, but he knows as much or more about riflescopes than anyone on the planet.
A lot of what...
That’s a nice build for sure. I hate that you are having to sell it in such a manner. If it’s any consolation, I went through a similar time about 6 years ago. My business suffered a very unforeseen and crippling event. I sold a safe full of custom builds w/ alpha glass, a handful of old...
The big question is does he do nothing and grit his teeth, or take it up with the responsible party?
I would bet the ding will never cause any issues or problems, but he just laid out $4-6K (an average custom build) for a top shelf rifle, and that ding really takes the shine off of it.
I’m building a similar rig...also in .300wsm. I have a 6.5prc that weighs 6lbs8oz bare, and tried out a couple of heavier scopes with it, mainly because I already had them. The S&B Exos was too heavy at 31-32 ozs. Ended up with a Swaro Z8i and the rifle balances perfectly.
Gonna go w/ a...
I’ve also watched the Proof video where they use one of their barrels like a golf club/sledge hammer, and take full swings into a cinder block. The barrel didn’t chip at all and shot perfect after the demonstration.
I just ordered the same barrel....a Bartlein carbon .30 cal, #4 contour. I assume you are certain the barrel didn’t come from Bartlein w/ the free chip in it? If you never took possession of the barrel (had it shipped directly to the builder), I would call Bartlein and inquire.
Did u ask...
Lots of good comments here. I’ll add that for years my feet would get so cold it would be painful. Then I started putting the scent free deodorant/anti perspirant all over my feet just before my socks. I use a thin silk liner sock, then a fairly thick merino wool sock....first lite and...
