I think I could drive a nail with my Nightforce nxs and it would hold zero but at 32oz it’s not on my western setups. Leupold and Swaro for best balance of weight, clarity and options IMO
I guess my disgust comes from so many people saying they are shooting distances with light/ultralight rifles that I am shooting with my F-class .308 it could be me but it’s not what I’m seeing from guys near me at the range
So I’m a flatlander from NE Ohio who has an addiction to shooting rifles. My western hunting rifles are a tikka t3x with an elite 6500 2.5-16 and a mark V lightweight in .257 weatherby mag with a vx3. My tikka weighs 7lbs 1oz with 3rds in the mag my Mark V 8lbs. I shoot my tikka 200 plus rounds...
I would get away from that camp because in my experience if it’s an outfitter there is probably going to be LOUD nights of drinking and hunting taking a back seat. Let them push the elk to you when they leave there camp hungover and late lol
i prefer hornady and winchester brass for 308's. i get at least a half dozen reloads from them and the case capacity seems to be more than the expensive brands and way more capacity over the lake city brass. lets me fit a few grains more :)
I cut it into small cubes then cook it with bacon in a cast iron skillet. When it’s done I serve it with hash browns and a couple of over easy eggs on top 🤤
Sorry for your loss of Moose.
Dogs are a short part of our life and we are there whole life. It looks like your dogs life was full of love and happiness
Colorado and i would contact Tel Gates with Rivers Bend Outfitters they are in the Meeker, CO area and offer drop camp hunts exactly as you were describing. He was the most professional outfitter and guide i have ever used. PM for more details or his contact info
im glad guys are upgrading their gear yearly and offering it up for sale, wish i could afford it all new but im happy to buy it 50% off in most cases that have barely seen a season.
Do you know what your trigger pull weight is? It sounds like your loading process is dialed in. A bad/heavy trigger is hard to overcome with even the best ammo
me on the left my buddy Don on the right. This is my first bull. We closed the deal on 2 bulls within a minute!! I can’t stop smiling when I see this picture. Not bad for an iPhone resting on my pack lol
