John's Customs
Pricing depends on the bow and the amount of serving on the cables....Roller guard bows have a LOT more serving so they always cost more. I'll be honest with you, he's not the cheapest around but there's a reason behind that...The guys that use his strings will pay more for his...
I've had bows of my own shooting in the 340-350fps range "not listed IBO, that's what they were actually shooting"...If you know how to tune a bow and you have good shooting form a speed bow isn't a big deal....The one thing that can cause headaches with a super fast rig is large fixed blade...
Oh and about the lengths, most all string builders have those lengths on hand....If nothing else you/they can always call the company and get the lengths for the string/cables...Only issue might be on a really old bow where the company is no longer in business.
The way I look at it is your...
I don't mind you guys quoting my post on the other thread....
There are some things a person needs to look at with strings...And I'll probably get burned at the cross by saying this before it's all over with....
Everyone uses the same materials these days, pretty much everyone that builds...
Evan, on the AAE Pro Drop, it's always had the steel cable...If you get a chance tomorrow look and see if they added a DOWN stop to it to limit how far the launcher will drop at the shot...In the past it hasn't and let the launcher slam into the shelf and it breaks the spring steel launcher...
Evan get to work!!!! Oh and do me a favor, head over to the Gold Tip booth and give Taylor Edwards a swift punch in the nuts for me, tell him it's from me and he'll understand, lol.
On the stabilizer, that's something I put together...Saw some guys back in '11 shooting setups like that when I was in Utah shooting Bowcast @ the Bird and thought I'd try it..It's short, doesn't get in the way but still offsets the weights enough to balance out the bow and offset the weight of...
Not sure but from the look of the pic DesertRat just posted above it looks like it just bolts on....If you enlarge that pic you can see the bolt on top of the windage block that looks like it holds the containment ring on.
I just bought a pair of them in Blue today at Foot Locker for $39 too....For that price I couldn't pass them up. These things are super light weight, feels like you are wearing socks with rubber bottoms on them, I like them so far but I'm just wearing them around the house.
Got my new strings in from John's Customs "Breathn on ArcheryTalk" and man they turned out nice looking...Solid flo green BCY 8190.
As usual everything was dead on, timing was perfect and specs out perfect!
The Eclipse is a nice bow...My buddy who builds all my strings "Breathn on Archerytalk" is a New Breed dealer and he loves the Eclipse and sells a ton of them. It's one of the nicer 2 track binary cam bows on the market I think.
Limb driven is still the way to go I think....They just work better, they stay up longer than a rest tied into the cables to support the arrow better during the shot and there's no timing issues with them. You still have numerous options for limb driven rests, Vapor Trail, Hamskea, Trophy Taker...
Ask around in your area and get opinions on GOOD archery shops though, trust me when I say this....For every Great archery shop there are a dozen that don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. Just because a guy has a store and a bow dealership deal doesn't mean he really knows anything.
