Eye relief was generous. Probably 3.5” at 3 power and a good 3” at 9 power. I’m happy with it, but I’ll be removing the rear sight to go with low rings.
Great looking heirloom Jack, great job on that stock. I toyed with the idea of leaving mine scope less because of the low profile stock. Yours looks real nice with that peep. Thanks for posting.
Thanks sl, I haven't had a problem getting them in or out of the breech plug, but I will keep an eye on the breech plug primer hole expanding a bit. I've been very happy with them so far.
Well I finally got the bases and rings in, and a new scope for her. Got it all set to go and will shoot her tomorrow. The only thing i do not like about it is, I had to go with high rings to clear the rear sight. Would have preferred low, but medium wouldn't even work. It looked like too...

Got a 3-9x40 scope for her, and leupold dovetail 2 piece base and rings shipped from Midway today. Ordered the medium height rings, hoping the scope clears the rear sight.
Gbflyer, I’ve read about the extractor being a problem with this model. If you look at the new picture of the muzzle that shows no damage as the first photo did, you can see the very sharp rifling. I don’t think this rifle was shot much at all, so I’m thinking the extractor is still in good shape.
Well, the old girl came in yesterday, and I had a very pleasant surprise. First thing I looked at after opening, was that muzzle, to see how bad it really was. To my surprise, it was perfect, no nick or gouge at all. Texted the guy I bought it from and asked about the nick in the muzzle, which...
