This year during trapping season I decided to try to resharpen them. They were easy to sharpen and held an edge very well. I was very happy with the results but will always pack new blades on all my hunts.
I use the Swaro 80mm HD. I went with the 80mm because of low light permormance. Best scope I have ever had! On a side note I run the Swaro 10X50 because of the low light permormance over the 10X42. For me a little more weight is worth the few extra minutes I get of glassing at prime time.
I prefer to hunt when the season opens. I have had my best luck and killing big bulls before they get in with the cows. My advice is to hunt everyday of the season you can. Most of the bulls I have killed with a bow were killed by Sept 5.
Never been a fan of the whisker biscuit. I have had really good luck with all the Trophy Taker fall away rests and I am currently shooting the Smackdown.
I live and hunt in Grizzly country so having a weapon along is a big deal for me. During summer scouting trips I take a Glock 45 and bear spray. When hunting season starts I leave the Glock at home and take the bear spray. The reason for leaving the Glock is the extra weight of packing it all...
I have a Mathews 7 arrow quiver on my bow. All arrows are set up with broadheads due to the amount of over the counter tags in Montana. It is a great feeling going into the woods with a pocket full of tags!
If you could pick any state to have a antelope tag in and it was good statewide. Which state would you pick and why?
I would pick Nevada. I was born and raised in that desert and would love my chance to find a monster. It also helps that a buck was killed there last year that scored in the...
If you decide to buy a point for this year the point will not be applied to the 2012 draw. You will only get a point if unsuccessful in the draw. Last year everyone that applied was successful in the draw. Anyone who was unsuccessful in the draw in 2010 and then did not apply in 2011 would...
You are right about the B&C billy or any animal for that matter that is a giant. You just know whenever you are looking at some animal that is exceptional. When someone is unsure of the sex or happens to be on a nanny hunt you may want to be careful.
The whitetails around Fort Peck were hit pretty had between the winter of 10/11 and the the EHD. A buddy hunted around Jordan last year and the best buck they found was 130. The year before they hunted the same area and were seeing a number of bucks in the 150+ range.
Man it is great to see moose like that here in Montana. I drew a tag in 2004 and this is the first year I get to apply again. If I draw again this year I will have a lot of people upset with me. Thanks for sharing the video!
