    False bugles

I’ve heard a little gobbling in the fall when 30-40 crows were circling over head raising hell at them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    How crowded is it really?

It can be, I’ve seen crowded spots and not so crowded spots. If you have no intel and you’re hunting a spot for the 1st time, there’s no telling whether it’ll be crowded or not, although if there’s good access, you’ll have company. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    First Elk Hunt Trip Report

Nice writeup, sounds like u had a good trip, durn scary steep if you gotta use rope. But you can't generalize after one trip. Cattle aren't everywhere in CO, some places yes, other places there are none, like where I hunt now. I used to hunt some units that had a few scattered cattle, not...

    Tired of Colorado Deadfall

Where I hunt in Southern CO, there are a lot of dead aspen too, I can't camp in my favorite spots due to dead aspen and the only level spots I can find out of direct sun is in the aspens. Also, I saw a thread here 2 weeks ago citing a study that said that elk avoid deadfall, they had collared...

How high would you look for elk in late October with no snow?

The 2nd and 3rd rifle tags are over the counter, but you can’t buy multiple tags.....you either hunt 2nd or 3rd, not both. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Grizzly Kills Bull Elk In the Yellowstone River, Hayden Valley, Sept.18 ,2020

I must be getting soft....felt bad for the bull, found it hard to watch. Yeah I know the bear needs to eat. That was a small grizzly and he was chasing the elk like it was a foregone conclusion that he'd kill it, as if he knew it was weakened somehow, he never hesitated at all.

    Stolen moose antlers

We can send a man to the moon but can't find a way to catch and harshly punish thieves? It should be understood that stealing more than a candy bar puts your life in jeopardy, but sadly thieves are rarely caught. Maybe we should all start leaving obvious valuables in the back of our trucks and...

    Elk season dates---fantasy league

CO has it about right......no one has exactly what they want, but most can live with it, any major changes and there'll be people PO'd, instead of just a little unhappy.

Serious question from a new comer...

This is a good thread for newbies.....now if only there was a way to get them to read it. Don't overlook cell service....you may have good cell service and can use that to calm the wife. I don't know how cell service gets to where I hunt in CO, but it does, so I don't bother with an inreach.
