    Colorado wolves released today

I have a shooting range I set up off Williams Peak Rd during the winter after hunting seasons with steel you are welcome to. I will also be glassing the back of Green Mountain tonight for any movement or perhaps anything on the road after work. I saw some bucks off 9 this morning (like usual)...

    Colorado wolves released today

They did not release the location for "reasons". I live very, very, very close to the approximate release spot, pass by frequently, and seen others on social media posting the approximate location. The wolves might be running by my house tonight for all I know... I'm pretty livid at this whole...

    NF SHV 3-10x40mm Q&A

Any thoughts on how this would compare to the NXS 2.5-10? My research shows its the same glass as the SHV. But I can't say anything about the internals. Different elevation dial too.

    Colorado wolves released today

And just like that, my backyard is destroyed. The moose population in that area will also be decimated. So much for putting in for that tag again. Funny that this wasn't the proposed release area and that wolves are already spotted/confirmed in the Colorado and Fraser River valleys. They could...

    Colorado wolves now killing sheep

The irony of Front Rangers claiming wolves will "restore" the ecosystem to some utopian original state. The entire Front Range exists because they divert water from the West to East Divide. There is nothing natural about it at all. If we restore it to the natural state, the Front Range would...

    Your Elk Hunting Rifle

Careful, you just opened a can of worms... Personally I hunt with a 270 win or 7 mag.

    Wind!

Plenty of guys (easily a dozen groups) up high on the ridge near me in the morning as the wind comes downhill. It shifts a few hours after first light uphill. I have to wonder what's going through their head

Are the any Ski Areas left out West that havent been ruined?

We call it Disneyland for a reason. Unfortunately I have to drive down to get groceries in Dillion and that's enough of that town for me.

Are the any Ski Areas left out West that havent been ruined?

Isn't it hilarious and ironic looking at the history of Colorado (California too)? States that were founded on the backs of natural resource extraction by tough mountain men and women. All of these mountain passes and trails existed to haul out silver gold, moly, coal, etc. People that lived in...

    CO Elk Structure, 2025+

I would love if the leftover list tags gave CO residents at least the first few hours at first pick. With how the system works, a CO resident can put in for a tag on 1st and 2nd draw and it still ends up on leftover. I would like to hunt my own state without a leftover tag swiped out from under...

Erosion cuts or reclaimed open pit mine.

How do you remain calm with overcrowding?

Yep, OnX and other phone GPS devices make it so easy to find spots and "get off the road". No where is really safe anymore. No offense to anyone, but this isn't Kansas/Nebraska/Kentucky/etc where people won't leave their truck or deer blind. People coming to hunt CO are coming here with a purpose.

How do you remain calm with overcrowding?

I don't know where you guys are hunting, but near me, people will climb 500-1000' ft elevation straight up a sagebrush covered hillside before first light. Absolutely brutal mornings.
