I’m far from an expert on strings and there will be others that can give you better advice than me. Having said that, I just put Gas Ghost strings on my Hoyt RX-7 Ultra.

What part of Texas and what do you mean by early season? Typically in my part of the state (north central) you don’t have to worry about cold temperatures in early October. It’s typically pushing 90 for a high and at best 70 for a low that time of year.
I’ve been fortunate to hunt goats twice and a bunch of other high altitude critters. You’re already on the right track losing weight. In my case, I’ve found cycling to be great exercise. You’ll develop strong legs and work on cardio simultaneously. Of course, I’ve also found rucking with 50...
My advice is to break your factory string in and replace it with a better aftermarket string now. That way you’ll have a back-up ready to go if something happens to your primary string this fall. It can be difficult, if not impossible, to get a string quickly during the season.
It's hard to beat Texas for the hunting aspect. Of course you'll have a liberal whitetail season that can span up to five months. And on top of that, you will probably have pigs and possibly exotics that can be hunted all year without any restrictions.
There's no set budget, but I'd like to keep it under $7,500 or so. Of course that could change. My mentality is that if I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it right from the beginning and I understand quality costs money.
I'm not into overloading, campers, etc. and I won't be rock...
I'm picking up a 3rd gen Tacoma in a couple of weeks and I'd like to upgrade the suspension, wheels, tires, etc. Can anyone recommend a good shop for doing this sort of work in the Missoula area? I'm willing to travel further for the right place. I've searched through old threads and cannot...
I agree with Clovis. Rent a Jeep and spend your time on the east side of the island. No hotels and no cruise ship passengers coming from St. Thomas. A lot fewer people, better snorkeling and generally better fishing. The one caveat is that the tarpon and bonefish tend to be on the north...
I’ve been down to St. John many, many times and I‘ve fished, snorkeled, and dove all over. Just PM me and I’ll be happy to give you some ideas over the phone if you’re interested.
I faced the same decision as you and ended up buying in Montana. The problem, as you’ll find, is that there’s very little quality land for sale in Wyoming and what is available, comes with a significant premium.
