I buy a big box of disposable ear plugs and stash the pouches everywhere. I have them in my binocular harness, backpack, gear bag, shooting bag, glove compartment, etc. That way they're available for myself and anyone else I'm with when I'm shooting or operating equipment at the ranch.

My vote goes to merino for the reasons mentioned above. Having said that, I also wear bamboo sun shirts/hoodies on occasion. I haven’t worn them for days on end, but they’re comfortable in the heat and they don’t seem to stink like synthetic layers.

There are seasons for the various ibex species. I believe you’re pretty close to the area gredos ibex are found. And you can hunt them on both public and private land. I’ve always used a local outfitter, but there’s a difference between using one like a local would versus a tourist.

I've shot two goats with 180 gr. TTSX out of my 300 WSM. I wouldn't hesitate to use a 150 or 165 gr. TTSX. You could also have some ammo custom loaded with Hammer or Patriot Valley monos too.
