This is coming from a newbie first time elk hunter, but here's the gear I really enjoyed:
-Crispi Idaho boots were amazing. My son wore Salewa Crow GTX and loved them.
-Klymit static v insulated pad.
-Peak refuel meals. Strawberry granola is heaven.
-Initial Ascent backpack
Pillow: I just use the stuff sack that I put my extra clothes in and bring a pillow case from home to put over it at bedtime. Worked great for me and I didn't have to spend the $ on a blow up pillow
Get some Darn Tough socks and some merino wool under shorts & t shirt. It's money well spent. Buy a set of trekking poles too. A cheap set will work just fine.
Meal prepping as we speak. Plus all of the above. I wake up in the night & think of things to add to my list. Pretty sure my wife will be grateful when September is over
