Are you talking about dialing or something else? I haven't dialed ever on big game. I'm not saying it's wrong, but I choose to shoot at closer distances.
I don't claim to be a scope testing expert, but my guess is there is more opinion than quality assurance involved.
If that isn't true, I have to wonder why Leupold doesn't do the same tests or very similar. Of course, another option is that Leupold would rather process scopes that need to be...
I didn't say he beat on his gear, but that doesn't mean everything is setup correctly, he has good quality rings and mounts correctly setup, etc.
I'll say it again. Buy what works for you, but that doesn't mean that the gear is a problem. Maybe it is.
I didn't see the followup though.
Did you see the thread a few weeks ago on here? There were lots of people that immediately blamed the scope, but it was the bedding.
I’ve always felt mixing is good. If the goal is to not look like a human, variation has to be an advantage. That being said, I’m like most people who buy the same pattern for upper and lower bottom.
I’ve also had deer walk right by me with blaze orange on, so who knows.
There are actually quite a few variables. Elevation, temperature, barrel type, chambering, length, type of rifling, how clean the barrel is, etc.
There are a few people that regularly test ammo on YouTube. You can check one/more of those and see what they are getting.
