Huh, hadn't heard of any 6.5 PRC issues - I'll definitely give that a look!
Yeah, I've heard some CA have had issues but it seems like they're good at getting them fixed, so I'm OK rolling those dice I think.
The tikka are tempting but they're relatively heavy and the ones that come threaded...
TLDR at the bottom.

I am a long time archery hunter looking to pick up a first rifle for learning to shoot, picking up reloading, and hunting. I'll be doing everything from white tail up north to mule deer and elk out here in Colorado. Given that I'm new to rifle and enjoy stalking in...
Darn good! Probably? I packed mine in some mylar bags and just cooked/ate out of them directly, but I made a test batch at home in a pint Mason jar and it had maybe 0.5-1 inch of head room
Some great suggestions in here! Minor sticker shock but I suppose when you ask for a bag that's a whole level above your basic Swiss gear that comes with a price jump! I'll bookmark these for black Friday deals for sure
I've also been deep diving seek outside stuff recently looking into hunting...
Brought a few varieties of this recipe on my last trip (swapped up the nuts/fruit/sweetener) and it was a beast of a breakfast at a solid weight. Pro tip, works great prepped with hot water in the morning just like you would do instant oats if you prefer a hot breakfast to the cold soak.
Kuiu kutana (preaching to the choir in this thread lol), and some of their merino zip offs for late season is all I need. Then again I have a bit of that Minnesota madness in my blood so it takes a lot for me to start busting out the real layers (usually December white tail sitting facing the wind)
Travel and EDC are the kickers for me! Got back from the latest hunt and realized that my computer bag with ~20 lbs was less comfortable than my trail bag with 60 - there's gotta be a solid, lightweight, maybe even framed EDC bag with a laptop pouch out there somewhere!
Was thinking Flight vs Gila as a secondary pack for backpacking to complement the Goshawk for hunting/trips that need the breakaway - thoughts on that situation?
Wingspans on a flight would be awesome! Was debating that or the gila for a day pack but was worried about space in the shoulder seasons, but if I could have ultralight most of the year and toss on a wingspan when needed....
Been looking between this pack and a goshawk, but quick question on the face pockets here -
It almost looks like the zippered pocket you're putting your notebook into has a mesh back? Could you verify if those pockets are waterproof?
